Staff Spotlight - Meet Maria, our Bilingual Speech Pathologist ✨🌎

We’re so excited to celebrate Maria, one of our wonderful speech pathologists here at be™.

Originally from Chile, Maria is fluent in Spanish and brings the richness of her language and culture into her work with children and families. As a bilingual speechie, she understands firsthand the beauty and strengths that come with growing up with more than one language.

Maria is passionate about supporting children to communicate in ways that feel natural and empowering for them - whether that’s in English, Spanish, or both. She values connection, play, and building strong relationships with families, and she approaches her work through a neuroaffirming, strengths-based lens.

We feel so lucky to have a bilingual therapist on our team who can support Spanish-speaking families in their home language and help children maintain and celebrate their cultural identity.

Did you know .com.au offer a Free Community Playgroup every Friday during school term.

📅 When: Fridays, 9:00AM – 11:00AM, during school term
📍 Where: 17 Bunya Street, Maleny (parking available on Lawyer Street)
👶 Who: Children aged 0–6 years, and their parents/carers

This playgroup is a wonderful opportunity for kids to explore, play, and socialise in a fun and supportive environment, while parents and caregivers connect with others in the community.

No bookings required, but if you are interested in coming and are able to let us know the day before, then this does help us prepare.

THIS WEEK WE HAVE A SPECIAL GUEST - Louise Batchler. Louise Batchler is a local dietitian offering nutrition support to the families experiencing eating and feeding challenges and nutrition-related conditions. Louise provides practical, non-judgemental nutrition advice while focussing on building a positive relationship with food. She looks forward to meeting families and enjoying some food play fun!

A nostalgic farewell to Dr David Nichols 🌟

Seven years ago, Dr Nichols joined us as a private paediatrician, working under our business name. Over time, he established his own practice, , while continuing to work alongside our team and use our allied health clinic space.

We’ve truly valued the opportunity to collaborate with Dr Nichols and support families together across our local community and the wider Sunshine Coast.

Today marks his final day at .com.au as he moves into a new location. Dr Nichols is passionate about providing accessible, community-focused care and will continue to see families in Maleny from his new space.

We wish him all the very best as he continues serving the Hinterland and Sunshine Coast, and we’re grateful for the years we’ve worked so closely together.

✨ Holiday Groups Are Back in 2026! ✨

We’re so excited to be running our holiday groups again next year, designed to support children to build confidence, connection, and skills — all while having fun!

Our small-group programs are thoughtfully planned by our allied health team and focus on:
- Social connection & friendships
- Communication & confidence
- Emotional regulation & resilience
- Play-based, engaging activities kids love

Holiday groups are a great way for children to practise skills in a supportive, relaxed environment outside of the school term — and they’re always a highlight of the holidays!

Groups have limited spaces, so if you or your child are interested, please call us to book as soon as possible.

Exciting news for our playgroup this Friday -
The wonderful Rosi from Thumbs and Tongues will be joining us as a special guest!

Rosi will have a cozy corner set up with:
- Relaxed dental screenings
- Advice on dental health, thumb/digit sucking, and breathing
- Stickers, puppets, and models for fun exploration
- Flyers and resources for parents

Rosi is amazing at making dental and oral health fun and stress-free for little ones —we’re so lucky to have her!
