In Australia, about 56 people are diagnosed with breast cancer every day, and this number rises to around 20,000 people each year. The good news is that, with earlier detection and better treatment, around 93% now live at least five years after their diagnosis.

👀 It is important to know what’s normal for your breasts and see your doctor if you notice:

- A new lump or thickening in the breast or underarm
- A change in size, shape or appearance of the breast
- Dimpling, puckering, redness or other skin changes
- Ni**le changes (turning in, crusting, redness)
- Ni**le discharge that is new or unusual for you

If something feels new or different, tell your doctor because early diagnosis can save life.

🩺 At Malvern Breast Imaging, we now offer Breast (Mamma) CT – an advanced technology that only takes around 7–12 seconds per breast and does not require compression. Your doctor can help decide if this test is appropriate for you.

🌸 Say hello to Breast (Mamma) CT at Malvern Breast Imaging 🌸

Did you know you can now have a detailed 3D breast scan without any breast compression? Breast (Mamma) CT is an advanced imaging test that creates high‑resolution 3D pictures of the breast using low‑dose X‑rays, similar to the dose of a standard mammogram.

During the scan, you lie comfortably on your tummy while your breast is gently positioned through an opening in the table. The scanner rotates around the breast and captures the images in just a few seconds per side – no squeezing, no plates, and no need to hold your breath for long.

Breast (Mamma) CT may be especially helpful if you:
- Have dense breast tissue
- Have breast implants
- Find mammograms very uncomfortable or painful
- Have a breast lump or an area that needs further assessment
- Are considered higher risk and need more detailed imaging
- You are due for your yearly breast screen
