World Drowning Prevention Day | 25 July

Every life lost to drowning is one too many.

Royal Life Saving Australia shares that World Drowning Prevention Day is a global reminder that drowning is preventable through education, awareness and action. Together, we can help create safer communities around water.

At The RICK Project, that’s exactly what we’re passionate about.

Our youth presenters are empowering primary school students with life saving beach safety knowledge through fun, interactive and engaging presentations. By teaching children how to recognise hazards, make safe decisions and know what to do in an emergency, we’re helping build a generation that’s more confident and safer around our beautiful coastline.

Every presentation is another opportunity to start a conversation.
Every child we reach is another step towards preventing tragedy.
Every lesson has the potential to save a life.

This World Drowning Prevention Day, join us in spreading the message that anyone can drown, but no one should.

🌊 World Drowning Prevention Day 25-07-2025

300,000 people globally lose their lives to drowning every year.

Behind every number is a person, a family, and a community forever changed.

The RICK Project is helping to change these statistics by bringing vital water safety education directly to young people in our community. Through engaging, interactive and age appropriate presentations, The RICK Project empowers children with the knowledge, confidence and skills to recognise risks, make safer decisions and understand the importance of looking out for themselves and others around water. By educating the next generation early, we hope to create a lasting ripple effect, building a community where everyone has the awareness and understanding needed to help prevent drowning and save lives.

Together, we can create a safer future and help prevent drowning. 🌊

Drowning predominantly impacts children and young people. 💙🌊

Every child deserves the knowledge, confidence and skills to stay safe around water.

This World Drowning Prevention Day, we’re proud to share the work we are doing through The RICK Project, bringing free beach safety education incursions into schools and helping empower the next generation with lifesaving knowledge.

Through fun, engaging and interactive presentations, we teach students about:
🌊 Understanding water risks
🏖️ Making safe choices at the beach
👥 Looking out for their friends and family
🛟 What to do if someone is in trouble

Prevention starts with education. By reaching children and young people in schools, we’re helping build a safer community, one classroom at a time.

What an awesome morning with the incredible Fun-A-Rama crew!

We had an absolute blast talking all things beach safety, sharing laughs, playing games, and meeting so many amazing young people.

A huge shout-out to all the kids who jumped in, answered questions, got involved, and brought the energy, you made the presentation so much fun!
