The influence behind the practice 🌿

Paul tells Zach about his martial arts mentors and the role they played in shaping his development. He shares how they recognised potential early on and taught him in ways that still carry through into how he works today — from discipline and precision to the way he approaches patient care.

One of Paul’s proudest achievements now is being able to offer apprenticeships within AAC. Passing on knowledge and creating opportunities for others not only continues that cycle of mentorship, but also allows more people to be supported through the clinic.

Growth, guidance, and giving back — all part of the journey.

Paul shows Zach from The IN8 Life Chiropractic the hallway lined with his certificates and qualifications — a visual timeline of his journey in practice and learning over the years.

What makes it even more meaningful is the bottom row, which holds Paul’s martial arts certifications. He explains how this foundation shaped a lot of who he is today — influencing his discipline, mindset, and approach to both practice and life.

At AAC, every part of the clinic has a story behind it, and this wall is a reflection of years of dedication, learning, and growth!

In scalp acupuncture, each zone on the scalp corresponds to a specific part of your body.

When we stimulate these zones, we're sending signals deep into the central nervous system.

Needling the motor zone at the top of the skull? That targets movement and muscle function.

Working on the sensory zone? That's communicating with areas that process pain, numbness, and sensation throughout the body.

Save this if you found it helpful!

Part 2: Blood letting for medial knee pain 🌿🩸

Paul demonstrates the next step in his approach — carefully using blood letting on the reactive areas identified in the previous assessment.

Only a few small points are used, with minimal drops of blood, as part of a precise and controlled technique aimed at helping relieve medial knee pain and improve local circulation.

It’s a reminder that in traditional Chinese medicine, sometimes less is more — with very targeted treatment being enough to create meaningful change in the body!

One of the most common knee presentations Paul sees in clinic: whole knee or arthritic knee issues🦵

Paul explains one of the first things he likes to do when assessing these cases: palpating the patient's back to find specific sore and reactive spots!

Sometimes the key to helping knee pain isn't always found at the knee itself. Paul has found the back to be a great spot for relieving knee pain.

👀 Stay tuned for part 2, where Paul demonstrates his next step — blood letting on these sore spots!

It’s not “just” for your back pain 🌿

It’s about helping relieve the stress, tension, and tightness that may be feeding into the pain in the first place.

At AAC, we look beyond just the area that hurts — because the body is connected, and often there’s more contributing to pain than what you feel on the surface.

Supporting the nervous system, improving circulation, and reducing tension can all play a role in helping the body move and feel better over time.

Clean air has always been important at AAC 🌿

Paul explains to Zach from In8 Life one of the less obvious features of the clinic — our air filtration systems.

AAC has two 3-part filtration systems, one at reception and one at the back of the clinic, which work together to filter the air throughout the entire clinic multiple times every hour. On top of that, each treatment room has its own air filtration unit to help maintain a clean and comfortable environment.

It's another example of how much thought has gone into every aspect of the clinic. Many of the things that make AAC unique aren't always visible at first glance, but they all serve a purpose in creating the best possible experience for our patients.

When it's time to wake your patient... 😴😂

Every acupuncturist knows the struggle...

Meanwhile, the patient is having the best sleep they've had in weeks! 🤣

Don't worry—we promise we eventually get them awake... although sometimes they need a little convincing! It's one of our favourite parts of the day because it usually means their body really needed the rest!
