For any of my past or current families, the National Eating Disorders Collaboration are wanting to hear from families who have experienced family based therapy with their child.

This vital work can help inform future treatment approaches, so they are wanting to hear about the good, the bad and the ugly.

Have you, or a young person in your care, experienced Family-Based Treatment (FBT) for anorexia nervosa or atypical anorexia nervosa?

Researchers are inviting both young people and parents/carers to share their experiences to help inform future adaptations to Family-Based Treatment. They are interested in hearing a wide range of perspectives, whether your experience was positive, challenging, or somewhere in between, and whether treatment was completed or not.

Participation involves a 30-minute online survey, with the option to also take part in an interview or focus group. Participation is voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time.

Your experiences could help shape future eating disorder care and support.

Last week I had the privilege of attending the launch.

Elladee was created by two registered nurses (and ex colleagues of mine) who saw firsthand how many women navigate their health journey through adolescence, premenopause, perimenopause, menopause and beyond feeling confused, dismissed, or unheard.

They provide women’s health education and women’s health advocacy services across the Brisbane Bayside, so when you attend a GP or health professional appointment, you arrive informed, prepared, and ready to advocate for yourself.
