Flu Brew!!
I have one of the dreaded lurgies going around and am having the day in bed. I was reminded to make myself a flu brew. This recipe is from one of my favourite herb teachers at college 25 years ago. Take fresh thyme, garlic and ginger, add a cup of water and gently simmer for a few minutes. Important to keep this covered to keep all those essential oils in the brew! (If you’re doing it in a mug cover it with a saucer). Then strain and add honey and lemon.
Thyme is antimicrobial and has an affinity for the lungs. Sage can also be used instead of thyme and is great for sore throats.
