You don’t always get to choose who you work with, where you are born, your bone structure.. but you get to choose how you approach each day, you get to choose who you want to be, your response to life’s challenges, and what you want to do with the time you have been given. Early signs that can appear before diagnosis

New-onset diabetes

One of the most important potential warning signs.

Especially if:

* Age >50
* No obvious reason for developing diabetes
* Accompanied by unexplained weight loss

Many people don’t realise that diabetes can be a consequence of pancreatic cancer rather than the cause.

Unexplained weight loss

Particularly if:

* Appetite is unchanged
* Diet hasn’t changed
* Weight drops over months

Loss of appetite or early fullness

People often describe:

“I just don’t feel like eating.”

💜 PANCREATIC CANCER AWARENESS 💜
A new symptom, new diabetes, new unexplained weight loss, or a noticeable change in digestion is often more important than a symptom you’ve had unchanged for years. 💜

Losing someone to cancer can be devastating, especially when it happens really quickly.

What we end up regretting the most is not knowing sooner, having to say goodbye when you didn’t even get the chance to say all you wanted to say. To tell them how much they meant to you. To stay with them for that extra cup of tea, that extra stroll down the garden path.

Pancreatic cancer is one of Australia’s deadliest cancers, largely because it can be difficult to detect in its early stages. Knowing the risk factors and recognising changes in your health may help you seek medical advice sooner.

⚠️ EARLY SIGNS TO WATCH FOR:
• Unexplained weight loss
• Loss of appetite or feeling full quickly
• Persistent abdominal discomfort or pain
• Pain that radiates to the back
• New-onset diabetes, especially after age 50
• Changes in digestion, including pale, greasy or floating stools
• Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
• Unexplained fatigue

This Thursday 10-4pm, we are hosting a morning tea fundraiser and health awareness event at Priceline Pharmacy.

In remembrance of a wonderful friend, neighbour, and work colleague of 18 years, we wanted to organise this event to raise awareness of what the early warning signs might be for Pancreatic Cancer.

Losing someone we love to cancer is never easy, and we always wish we had seen the signs, or picked it up sooner.

Her favourite products were of course our Dermagen range. We have a table of products and bundles to purchase, all profits raised on the day will be doubled and donated to Pankind. (8am -6pm).
