The type of in-home care you receive depends upon your circumstances. You can choose to access services privately, or many people access help via Home Care Packages which are funded by the government to make care more accessible.

There are four levels of care under these packages that range from basic to high-level care. And even though they are government funded, you have the freedom to choose your preferred care provider, the type of services you receive and the days and times when you receive help.

Once you are approved for a package, we match you with a suitable CAREGiver who you meet before your first service. When looking for a care provider, it is important that you understand the support and assistance that is available to you and find a carer who can not only meet your needs but will also get along with you.

Learn more about how to access private or government funded care by giving us a call. Our team will explain the entire process in a way that is easy to understand, so you feel confident to make decisions for yourself and know what to expect 💜

This week is Dementia Action Week, and we’re proud to host a Dementia Essentials class for our dedicated CAREGivers!

In support of Home Instead's commitment to creating a more dementia friendly Australia, we’re equipping our team with the skills they need to provide exceptional care.

With over 1.6 million Australians caring for someone with dementia, and 2 out of 3 people living with dementia in our communities, this training is invaluable.

A huge thank you to our facilitator, Susan Bird from Dementia Australia, for guiding us on this important journey. We can't wait for day two! 😊❤️

A big thank you to everyone who attended our CAREGiver Quarterly Meeting! Your participation made it a truly information-packed and engaging session.

We were thrilled to have Kerri-Anne Dooley as our main presenter for the evening. Her insights on Palliative Care were incredibly valuable, and her expertise shone through in her presentation. The feedback we’ve received from our CAREGivers has been overwhelmingly positive!

Thank you to all of our CAREGivers for your compassion, commitment and dedication; this is what makes you all so special.

Stay tuned for more updates and future meeting details!

As we grow older, maintaining social connection and engagement in activities thatkeep our minds active is essential to our mental and physical wellbeing. Loneliness and isolation have been proven to contribute towards the development of dementia and can increase the risk of premature death as much as smoking 15 ci******es a
day, or obesity.

By trying different activities, you’ll hopefully discover what activities the person living with dementia really enjoys and will provide a basis for activities that you can undertake together in the future.
