This week's portion has felt deeply personal.

As I sat with the readings, I couldn't help but notice that the issue wasn't that the spies were wrong. The giants were real. The cities really were fortified. The challenge before them truly was beyond their own ability.

What they saw wasn't inaccurate.

What they forgot was who was with them.

As I reflected on this portion, I found myself thinking about a prophetic word I recently received. In it, I felt God encouraging me to trust Him and remain the course in a situation that, if I'm honest, feels far bigger than me. A situation where the risks are real, the obstacles are obvious, and walking away would feel far easier than staying.

Although I knew God was speaking, I was looking for more confirmation. The weight of the situation felt too significant to simply move forward.

Then, just hours later, I found myself writing this reflection.

How very God.

As I read through Shelach, I was reminded that God never asked Israel to ignore the giants. He asked them to trust Him in the presence of them.

And perhaps that's the invitation for us as well.

So often we stand between God's promise and our present reality, staring at a gap we cannot bridge in our own strength. We want certainty, a plan, and reassurance that we can handle what lies ahead. Yet it is often within that very gap that God chooses to reveal His faithfulness.

If we could do it ourselves, there would be little need for faith, trust, or HIM.

If the outcome depended entirely on us, there would be no room for God to move.

The miracle was never that there were no giants. The miracle was that God was greater than them.

Is there an area of your life where God is asking you to trust Him beyond what feels reasonable, comfortable, or even possible?

This week, instead of focusing on the size of the obstacle before you, focus on the faithfulness of the One who has called you forward.

The gap may be real.

But perhaps that is exactly where God intends to meet you.

Not every heavy feeling is from God.

And if we don’t learn the difference…
we’ll misread His voice.

“There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” — Romans 8:1

So what does come from Him? Conviction.

Conviction:
• brings clarity
• exposes without shame
• draws you closer
• leads to alignment

Condemnation:
• accuses
• attacks identity
• produces shame
• creates distance

A simple way to recognise it:
If what you’re feeling draws you toward God → conviction
If it makes you withdraw or hide → condemnation

And Scripture is clear:
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear…” — 1 John 4:18

So if fear is telling you:
“God is mad at you”
That voice… isn’t His.

There’s something deeply personal in this week’s portion. Naso begins with structure, responsibility, and order, but beneath it all, there’s a quiet, consistent message: God sees, God restores, and God sets apart.

As the census continues and roles are assigned, we’re reminded that every person had a place, a purpose, and a responsibility. No one was overlooked. Even in the practical and procedural, God was forming identity. And isn’t that still true today? In seasons that feel ordinary, administrative, or even unnoticed, God is still shaping who we are and where we belong.

Then the tone shifts toward matters of the heart, faithfulness, integrity, and restoration. These passages aren’t just about laws; they reveal a God who cares deeply about what is hidden. Not to shame, but to bring things into the light so healing can begin. There is a tenderness here, an invitation to live honestly before Him, knowing that restoration is always His desire.

The Nazirite vow introduces another layer: a voluntary choosing to live set apart. Not out of obligation, but devotion. It echoes into the story of Samson’s birth in Judges, and again in Luke with Zechariah and John the Baptist, lives marked before they even began. There’s a thread here of God calling people into purpose long before they fully understand it.

And yet, Zechariah’s moment in Luke feels so human. Faced with an encounter with God, he hesitates, questions, struggles to believe. It’s a gentle reminder that even those chosen and called can wrestle with doubt. Still, God’s purposes are not undone by our uncertainty.

Finally, in Acts, we see the tension between devotion and community, how faith is lived out not just personally, but publicly. There is wisdom in how Paul navigates this, honouring both conviction and unity. It speaks to us about humility, about being willing to walk in love and sensitivity with others, even when we carry strong personal faith.

Woven through all of this is the Priestly Blessing, a moment where God’s heart is spoken over His people:
The Lord bless you and keep you…
The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you…

It’s not just a blessing—it’s identity. Covering. Nearness.

Reflection & Invitation:
Where might God be calling you to come into alignment, quietly, personally, or even courageously?

Is there something hidden He is gently inviting you to bring into the light?
Or perhaps He is simply reminding you… you are seen, you are known, and you are set apart.

This week, take a moment to pause and position your heart before Him.
Let Him search you, restore you, and remind you of your place in His story.

And maybe most importantly….
receive His blessing over your life.

17/05/2026

This truth isn’t hanging on one verse.
It’s woven through the whole story of Scripture.

From beginning to end, the pattern of God is not withdrawal — it’s pursuit.

When humanity sinned in the garden, who hid?
Not God.
Adam and Eve did.

And who came looking?
God did.

That pattern never changed.

“He does not treat us as our sins deserve… as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”
— Book of Psalms

He doesn’t hold our failure over us.
He removes it.

“His compassions never fail… they are new every morning.”
— Book of Lamentations

Not recycled mercy.
Not leftover mercy.
New mercy.

For today.
For this moment.
For this struggle.

“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
— Hebrews

In the original language, it carries force upon force:
Never.
No, never.
Not ever.

This is the pattern of God:
He removes sin.
He renews mercy.
He remains present.

So when the thought comes,
“God is pulling away from me…”

we have to ask:

Did God say that?
Or did shame?

Because Scripture paints a very different picture.

Not a God retreating from broken people,
but a God moving toward them.

Always.

15/05/2026

This week, as we enter Bemidbar, we find Israel in a place that feels both ordered… and uncertain.

They are counted.
Named.
Positioned.

Each tribe is assigned a place. Each person is seen. Even in the wilderness, a place that often feels empty, unstructured, and unknown, there is intentionality.

God does not lead them into chaos.
He leads them with purpose.

The wilderness is not where identity is lost.
It is where identity is formed.

In this portion, we see a God who organises, who calls, who assigns, who draws people into belonging. No one is overlooked. No role is insignificant. Every life is accounted for.

And yet… they are still in the wilderness.

That feels familiar.

There are seasons where life feels unclear, where direction feels slow, where the landscape feels barren, and yet God is still present, still ordering, still forming something beneath the surface.

Perhaps the wilderness is not absence…
but preparation.

Through the broader thread of Scripture, we’re reminded that God gathers what feels scattered. He brings unity where there is disconnection. He calls people into purpose, even when they feel unseen.

You are not wandering unnoticed.
You are being led.

This week, take a moment to pause and reflect:
Where might God be forming something in you, even if the season feels uncertain?
Where might He be asking you to trust His leading, even without full clarity?

Let yourself rest in this truth..
He knows your place.
He knows your name.
And He has not lost sight of you.

Shabbat Shalom, friends 💛
