😮 Bad breath happens to everyone occasionally—but if it's persistent,
there may be an underlying cause.

Bad breath isn't always caused by the foods you eat. It can also be linked
to your oral health and everyday habits.

The most common causes include:

🪥 Poor oral hygiene – Plaque and food particles allow bacteria to build
up and produce unpleasant odours.

💧 Dry mouth – Saliva helps wash away bacteria. A dry mouth, caused by
dehydration, certain medications or mouth breathing, can allow odour-
causing bacteria to multiply.

🦷 Gum disease – Persistent bad breath can sometimes be an early sign
of gum disease, especially if you also notice bleeding or swollen gums.

🍽️ Diet – Foods such as garlic, onion, coffee and alcohol can temporarily
affect your breath. Low-carb diets or skipping meals may also
contribute.

The good news? In many cases, bad breath can be improved with a few
simple habits:

✔ Brush twice a day

✔ Floss every day

✔ Clean your tongue

✔ Stay well hydrated

✔ Visit your dentist regularly for check-ups and professional cleans

If your bad breath doesn't improve despite good oral hygiene, don't
ignore it. A dental examination can help identify the underlying cause
and recommend the right treatment.

🦷 Losing a tooth doesn't just leave a gap—it can affect your entire mouth over time.

When a missing tooth isn't replaced, neighbouring teeth may begin to shift, the jawbone in that area can gradually shrink, and the opposing tooth may move out of position. These changes can affect your bite, make chewing more difficult, and sometimes make future treatment more complex.

The good news is that there are several options available to replace missing teeth, including dental implants, bridges and dentures. The right choice depends on your individual needs, oral health and budget.

If you're missing a tooth and aren't sure what to do next, we're happy to discuss your options and help you find the treatment that's right for you.

"Professional cleaning removes what brushing can't."

✨ A professional scale and clean is more than just polishing your teeth.

During your appointment, we examine your oral health, remove plaque and hardened tartar, polish away surface stains, and provide personalised advice to help keep your smile healthy.

Regular dental visits allow us to identify problems early—often before they become painful or require more extensive treatment.

If it's been a while since your last visit, we'd love to help you get back on track.

🦷 Think all tooth surfaces are easy to clean? Think again!

The deep grooves on your back teeth (molars) can trap food and
bacteria, making them one of the most common places for
cavities to develop—especially in children and teenagers.

That's where fissure sealants can help.

A fissure sealant is a thin, protective coating applied to the
chewing surface of the tooth to seal these grooves, making them
easier to keep clean and helping reduce the risk of decay.

Fissure sealants are:

✔ Quick and painless to apply

✔ Non-invasive

✔ A great preventive option for children and adults who are at
higher risk of tooth decay

Preventing a cavity is always easier than treating one.

Ask us at your next check-up whether fissure sealants are right for
you or your child.
