Help Shape the Future of Maternity Care in McLaren Vale.
McLaren Vale Hospital is pleased to share an important opportunity to help shape the future of maternity care in McLaren Vale, across the Fleurieu Peninsula and throughout surrounding regions.
The proposed Embrace Midwifery Birth Centre, planned to operate within the McLaren Vale Hospital site as part of the hospital’s reopening and revitalisation, aims to provide a safe, evidence-based birthing option for women and birthing people with low-risk pregnancies. The centre would expand access to continuity of midwifery care throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
Embrace Midwifery Services STAKEHOLDER CONSULTATION will explore the centre’s vision, proposed model of care and facilities, projected capacity, clinical governance, and collaborative pathways with local hospitals and tertiary maternity services. Embrace Midwifery will also outline the proposed involvement of Flinders University in research, education, student placements, workforce development, and the evaluation of maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Embrace Midwifery warmly invites stakeholders to contribute ideas, provide feedback, and discuss opportunities for partnership throughout the planning, development, and implementation of this exciting proposal.
