🌞 Therapy & motherhood things I'm excited about in June...

❀️ 1) Announcing our next Pause Restore Grow seasonal motherhood wellbeing event for summer 2026 with on the topic of radiance without burnout. We will be talking about burnout and nervous system regulation and more.

πŸ‘©β€πŸΌ2) Supporting m/others at Matrescence Festival, Exeter on Sat 20th June as Festival Counsellor. An absolute honour to be involved. Really excited for this

πŸ™ 3) Doing some of my own mind/body/soul self-care with a half day retreat in Ashburton Looking forward to some nourishment and practising what we preach.

✨️ 4) Attending an international online conference on the topic of microdosing & menopause. Getting curious about psychedelic-assisted therapy....watch this space!

πŸŽ‰ 5) My twins turning 2 (!) Matrescence 2.0 continues to be a very wild and challenging ride. Still very much in the thick of it. But this feels like a really milestone as we enter toddlerhood.

🌞 6) Celebrating summer solstice with my beautiful womens circle. I find this such an anchor each month; we meet in sync with the moon cycles, solstice etc and it is so wonderful to honour nature's cycles together.

β˜•οΈ 7) Continuing my online and in-person weekly client work using IFS (Internal Family Systems). It is such a joy and honour to be doing this work.

πŸ“š Book recommendations on the topic of motherhood from a woman-centered therapist specializing in perinatal mental health (and English Lit grad/certified book worm!)

πŸ‘©β€πŸΌ These are just a small selection of some of the books I've enjoyed over the last few years of my motherhood journey which have helped me make sense of my own mental, physiological, emotional and spiritual experience of life, love, matrescence and becoming a mother to three small humans and/or given me greater understanding of what other women have gone through on their journey which has fundamentally helped me as a therapist for mums.

❀️ Here we go....

'Nobody Told Me'
'Motherhood'
'Matrescence'
'Beautiful Chaos'
'Constellations'
'The Hungover Games'stroud 'My Wild and Sleepless Nights'
'I Am Not Your Baby Mother'
'Wintering'

⚠️ It'sΒ Mental Health Awareness Week, so let’s talk about perinatal mental health...

πŸ‘©β€πŸΌ 1 in 5 women experience mental health challenges during pregnancy or in the first year after birth.

❀️ This includes: anxiety, low mood, intrusive thoughts, loneliness, birth trauma, and feeling β€œnot like yourself” & much more.Β

πŸ™ Trust me - you are not failing if motherhood feels hard. This is a vulnerable, intense time. We weren't built to do this alone.

😒 What to do if you're struggling? Get support now:

πŸ“ž You can also drop me a DM to book an appointment / free 15 min intro call to talk about how I might be able to support you through regular therapy online/in-person in East Devon.

πŸ”₯Β Are you struggling with the impacts of perimenopause? Are you experiencing internal shifts and feelings that are intense and overwhelming? Are your priorities and relationships changing?

✨️ If you're seeking support during this time of transition, I am here to help. From clients I've worked with recently, I've found that IFS/Parts Work can be very helpful in exploring the different aspects of ourselves and their needs that arise during this phase. Within the therapy room, we can explore the deeper learning and wisdom that this transition toward menopause offers us which can bring some peace and understanding to rhe process.

πŸ™ β€œI saw Belinda for around six months and I found her so calm and approachable. It was just what I needed when everything else felt so chaotic.”

πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ How I support my nervous system (as a therapist and mum of three under 5)

🌳 Connect with nature every day whether it's a walk, looking at a view or deep breaths outside in the fresh air

πŸ”₯ Take time out for a monthly sauna. I find this gives me a bit of a re-set

πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ Doing short (2-3 min) breathing exercises on a daily basis to simply connect mind-body again

🌊 Cold water plunges / sea swims / cold showers... I love it all. I find this really invigorating and awakening for my senses.

❀️ Therapy for mums is my passion and my purpose. Testimonials like this sum up why. Often the process of matrescence (becoming a mother) really kicks up our own childhood experiences and forces us to look at our inner worlds in a way we might not have done before - how we parent, how we respond to things, what we expect of ourselves and others and much more. I provide a container for this to explore and process your experiences with a qualified therapist who also has lived experience of motherhood. I get it, I'm also living it.

🀱 β€œTherapy with Belinda has been incredibly helpful for me in terms of processing some intense birth trauma and stuff from my childhood that I didn’t even realise was there until I had my own baby.”
