Last week I talked about how the stories we repeatedly tell ourselves shape our identity.
Today, I want to take that one step further.
When you fall back into old habits, it doesn’t automatically mean you’re lazy, unmotivated or lacking willpower.
Often, your brain is trying to keep your behaviour consistent with the identity it’s known for years.
That’s why lasting change can feel uncomfortable.
Not because you’re incapable of changing.
But because you’re asking your brain to accept a different version of you.
The beautiful part?
Identity isn’t fixed.
Every promise you keep to yourself…
Every choice that aligns with the person you’re becoming…
Is evidence that a new identity is being created.
And when your identity changes, your behaviours begin to follow.💛
