🟢VIRIDITAS & ARIDITAS

Today is the feast of St Hildegard of Bingen, one of my heavenly patrons and mentor.
I’m reflecting on two beautiful images from her spirituality:

🟢Viriditas — greenness, vitality, fruitfulness… the soul alive in God’s grace.

🔘Ariditas — dryness, barrenness, the withering that comes when we become disconnected from the Source of Life.

Hildegard saw this spiritual movement reflected in the struggle between virtue and vice.

🌿 Virtue nourishes life.
🌿 Vice diminishes it.
🌿 Grace restores what has become dry.

Perhaps holiness is, in part, learning to notice what is causing us to wither — and allowing Christ to bring us back to life.

What is God inviting you to cultivate today?

More patience?
More charity?
More humility?
More courage?

It certainly feels more like Winter than Autumn right now in Melbourne 🥶
As we transition into the cold Winter season, this is a gentle reminder: it’s time to return inward, inviting you to a slower rhythm where wellbeing is not built on intensity, but in consistency and care.
More attunement.
A season of softening; of asking something quieter of us.
In Ayurveda, this time of the year naturally draws us towards warmth, grounding, nourishment and steady rebuilding of inner reserves.
When we align with this rhythm, wellbeing becomes less about management and more about intelligent self- nurture
And … it’s not a one size fits all

I’ll be offering Winter Wellness Workshops this June and July—designed to support this seasonal alignment through the combined wisdom of Ayurveda & Aromatherapy.

When a scent hasn’t fully revealed itself yet…..
Scent is never just one note—it’s a composition.

Lately I’ve been working with contrasts for a signature candle scent :
🌿green fig against warm resin,
🌿soft woods wrapped in subtle sweetness of Jasmine and Rose
🌿a touch of smoke to ground it all.

It’s this balance that transforms a fragrance
from something pleasant…
into something you feel.
