Well that was fun! A whirlwind trip to Lisbon, Portugal for an eczema advisory board! ✈️ I was honoured to represent Australia on an international advisory boeard, discussing current and future therapies for atopic dermatitis (AD.) 🤝

For those of you who suffer from AD or know of someone who does, you understand the incredible impact this condition has on quality of life, sleep, work, education, relationships and confidence. 😵‍💫😵‍

Together Dermatologists can make a huge difference and hopefully end the suffering!

Most people focus on moisturising their face, but the skin on your body can actually be up to 2 times drier.

As we age, we naturally lose ceramides, which are essential components of the skin barrier.

During winter especially, this can lead to dryness, irritation, and compromised skin.

Using moisturisers formulated with barrier-supportive ingredients like ceramides can help maintain hydration and support overall skin health.

The right moisturiser is not just about how your skin feels immediately after application. It is about supporting the skin barrier over time.

People often assume dermatologists have complicated skincare routines.

The truth? The best routine is one you'll actually stick to.

Between family life, running a busy practice, and travelling for research and medical conferences, my approach is simple: choose evidence-based ingredients, stay consistent, and never skip sunscreen.

P-Tiox by has become a staple in my routine because it combines an advanced peptide complex with ingredients like niacinamide and polyhydroxy acid to help improve the appearance of expression lines and skin texture.

Great skin isn't about using dozens of products or chasing every new trend. It's about building a routine that works for you and sticking with it.

Breakouts never seem to arrive when it's convenient.

Whether it's before an important meeting, a date, or an event, the temptation is often to pick, squeeze, or panic. Unfortunately, that can make things look and feel worse.

A better approach is consistency. Looking after acne-prone skin daily, avoiding picking, and protecting active blemishes can help minimise their appearance and support the skin barrier.

Remember, skin doesn't have to be perfect for you to show up with confidence.

Not all under-eye concerns are caused by the same thing.

Dark circles can come from pigmentation, visible blood vessels, volume loss, shadowing… or sometimes a combination of all four.

That’s why copying someone else’s skincare routine or using a single “miracle” eye cream doesn’t always work.

Understanding what’s actually causing your under-eye concern is the first step to choosing the right approach.

Which type do you think you are?👇

The internet is increasingly convincing young men that attractiveness is something that can be endlessly “optimised.”

Sharper jawlines. Perfect skin. Zero body fat. “Hunter eyes.” Endless routines and supplements promising the ideal face.

But much of this content is driven by insecurity, unrealistic standards, and marketing rather than evidence-based health advice.

As a dermatologist, I’m seeing more young men damaging their skin barriers, overusing harsh products, and becoming hyper-fixated on minor features nobody else notices.

The reality is that healthy skin is built on consistency, not obsession.

Sleep well. Exercise regularly. Wear sunscreen. Treat skin conditions appropriately. Look after your mental health.

Confidence and overall wellbeing will always matter more than chasing online perfection.

Psoriasis is more than just a skin condition.

For some people, it can also affect the joints, leading to a condition known as psoriatic arthritis.

Symptoms such as joint pain, stiffness, swelling, or nail changes are sometimes overlooked or mistaken for other issues, which is why early recognition is important.

If you have psoriasis and are noticing these symptoms, seeking medical advice early may help reduce the risk of long-term joint damage.
