Hear With Me Audiology Care Warm, personalised, comprehensive and honest audiology care for you & your loved ones.

“When should I get my hearing tested?” is one of the questions we hear most — and the honest answer is earlier than most people expect. 👂

If you are noticing hearing difficulties yourself, or your family has started mentioning it, that is a good time to come in. A hearing assessment is simply information about where your hearing is at right now. What happens next is a separate conversation entirely.

Dr Gerard, our founding audiologist, explains.

We put the question to the whole team.

Being nervous is completely normal — whether you have had a difficult experience in the past or it is simply your first time. Hearing tests are straightforward, painless, and our clinical experience is often more interesting than people expect.

We are there to find out what is going on with your hearing, and to make sure you understand it. It is your hearing, after all. Whether hearing aids enter the picture is a separate conversation, and one we only have if it is appropriate.

For children, we have videos showing exactly what happens during a hearing test, plus a kids’ corner for a distraction. For adults who are nervous — tell us.

Tell us if you are still nervous and we can adapt.

We are here to help you feel comfortable and gain more confidence with your ears and hearing.

Meet Dr Gerard William, the founding audiologist at Hear With Me Audiology Care. 👋 🦻

Dr Gerard grew up with hearing loss but did not get hearing aids until he was 15.

He describes the incredible shift that followed in his life afterwards - socialising without constantly asking for repeats, understanding a teacher from the back of the classroom, and a realisation of how much he had missed during his primary school years.

That experience, along with recognising how little information his own parents had been given during his childhood hearing assessments led him to audiology - and eventually to starting his own practice.
At Hear With Me Audiology Care, our approach is to meet people where they are in their hearing journey, and to provide warm, personalised, comprehensive and honest hearing care.

See Dr Gerard at our Ivanhoe and Melbourne C*D hearing clinics.

Meet Sunny, the Practice Manager at Hear With Me Audiology Care. đź‘‹

Hearing health is personal for Sunny. She grew up with constant ear infections and spent years in and out of hearing tests. She knows what it is like to not feel taken seriously — to just want someone to listen and actually help.

Her role now is mostly behind the scenes: booking appointments, answering questions, keeping the clinic running so our audiologists can give you their full attention.

As she puts it — we are a small team and we genuinely care. No pressure, no rushing.
If you feel your hearing is not quite right, or a loved one needs checking, book online any time or give us a call.

Where you are able to obtain a referral from your GP, ENT specialist or another medical practitioner, a Medicare rebate is available for hearing assessments for both children and adults.

Ear wax removal is treated differently. It does not fall under a standard referral, and instead sits under the General Practitioner Chronic Care Management Plan (GPCCMP) — something you would need to discuss with your GP to determine whether you fall into that category.

Similarly, Medicare rebates may also apply to our hearing aid trials with a GPCCMP Care Plan.
Hearing aids are generally not covered by Medicare.

Private Health Insurance cannot be used in conjunction with Medicare, but can be used instead depending on your specific coverage.

Eligibility criteria apply. We recommend speaking with your GP about your individual circumstances, or contacting our clinic if you have questions about how it works.

Meet Ruby, one of our audiologists. đź‘‹

Her path to becoming an audiologist was not a straight line — she started in human anatomy, and discovered audiology when she went to a seminar. Her own experiences about her grandfather’s hearing loss inspired her to learn more. Ruby’s fascinated by audiology’s mix of evolving technology, long-term patient relationships, and work that genuinely affects someone’s day-to-day life.

She works with everyone from very little ones to older adults, and her approach does not change: she wants you to be comfortable, informed, and never pushed.

She also brings the whole family into the conversation, because hearing loss affects more than just the person experiencing it.

Hi! If you haven’t already met us, let us introduce our Hear With Me Audiology Care team, from whom you will hear more from in the coming weeks.

In the photo are our audiologists Dr Gerard William and Ruby Forbes, and Practice Manager Sunny.

Dr Gerard, as many already know, is the founding audiologist for Hear With Me and grew up with hearing impairment. He did his Masters of Audiology (Distinction) in New Zealand before working clinically across Australia, then received a HEARing CRC scholarship to undertake his PhD in Audiology at the University of Melbourne, where he also taught. He started Hear With Me in 2020. He is passionate about creating audiology experiences that he and his loved ones did not have when he was growing up.

Ruby worked regionally in Victoria before returning to Melbourne at the start of this year. A local of the area, Ruby has been committed to building partnerships for both our Ivanhoe and Melbourne C*D clinics. Ruby is fantastic with children and is a former junior tennis coach. She was inspired to become an audiologist as she witnessed her grandfather’s hearing loss impacting his life, such as missing out on the dialogue during her theatrical productions in high school. Ruby completed her undergraduate and Masters of Clinical Audiology degrees at the University of Melbourne. She has already endeared herself to many families who visit Hear With Me.

Sunny has grown with Hear With Me and became our Practice Manager last year. She is the friendly voice you hear on the phone, and she works closely with her peers across various GP and ENT clinics to ensure that there is continuity in your care across the broader health system. She is incredibly hospitable and wants you to enjoy a warm experience when you visit us. Sunny has herself experienced frequent ear issues since childhood and has first-hand experience of hearing loss and how it can really impact one’s life!

Our team are committed to providing you and your loved ones with warm, personalized, comprehensive and honest audiology care. We look forward to sharing more and meeting you soon!

Parking — the practical question everyone wants answered before they arrive. 🚗

Our Ivanhoe clinic has free on-site parking, so that one is straightforward.

Our Melbourne C*D clinic does not have reserved parking. You may find something out the front

of the building, but honestly, public transport is much easier for that location.

Sunny gives you the rundown.

Two clinics, two very different parts of Melbourne. 📍 Hear With Me Audiology Care has one clinic in Ivanhoe and a second in Melbourne C*D — so whether it suits you to come in near home or fit an appointment around work in the city, there is an option.
Same team, same approach at both.
Sunny has the details.
