McNamara Care and Support - MCAS

We are a disability support provider that provides the highest level service to people living with a disability throughout Melbourne.

We are a small business disability support service that values clients as individuals and prioritises building a positive and safe environment that embraces honesty and open communication. What makes us unique is our simplest, yet highest, priority which is for our clients to have fun. We ready our support workers to incorporate being a mentor and friend into their role and we make a great effort

to help our clients have experiences, through events and activities, that they have found challenging to be a part of. Our managing team are highly familiar, both personally and professionally, with the challenges and adversities faced by both people with disabilities as well as their families/ guardians, and therefore approach our work with compassion and empathy, as well as honesty and integrity. Being a small business allows us to dedicate our time towards focusing on clients, tailoring our operations according to their needs. Clients can be reassured that with us, they will be taken seriously, to the extent that each client will have their own case manager and employee/s that are hand-selected for them. Both employees and programs for clients will be organised according to each client’s unique needs.

🌟 Sibling Spotlight: Elyssa & Eli! 💚

There’s something truly special about the bond between siblings, and Elyssa and Eli remind us of that every week. ✨

Elyssa is kind, caring, and full of life. With a fantastic sense of humour and a heart of gold, she’s a delight to be around. She loves Animals, Hello Kitty, Justin Bieber, and is always up for a fun adventure! One of our favourite things about Elyssa is her thoughtful nature, she often picks up little treats for Eli which makes him smile. 😻

Eli has a infecious smile and brings happiness wherever he goes. He loves spending time with his family and beloved pet dog, going for walks in nature, and visiting his local playground. It’s been so rewarding to watch his confidence and independence continue to grow. 🐶

When the opportunity arises, Elyssa and Eli enjoy catching up for lunch at the park with their support assistants, a lovely tradition that reflects the close bond they share. 🧺🍃

We’re so grateful to be part of Elyssa and Eli’s journey and to witness such a heartwarming sibling bond. 🥰

✨ It’s time for a Mitch update! ✨

What has the wonderful Mitch been up to lately? 😄

Mitch has been absolutely loving Go-Karting lately! 🏎️💨 Him and his support assistant Josh have been very determined to smash a double cart record and the competition is definitely heating up!

He also recently headed off on a camping trip to Warburton ⛺🔥 where he got to soak up one of his absolute favourite things… GLORIOUS campfires built by his awesome support crew! There’s nothing Mitch loves more than relaxing by the fire and enjoying the outdoors. 🍃

Mitch also attended Pitch Music Festival 🎶✨ and as always, absolutely flourished in the festival atmosphere! He spent quality time with support assistants Sam and James, made countless new friends, enjoyed all the good vibes, and loved hanging out in his tent between all the fun. 👌

Mitch continues to thrive, always bringing such positive energy and enthusiasm wherever he goes. We love seeing him enjoy so many incredible experiences! 🤗

💙 World Autism Awareness Day 💙

Today we celebrate and honour the incredible souls on the autism spectrum, embracing this year’s theme: “Autism and Humanity - Every Life Has Value.”

It’s a powerful reminder that every person brings something unique to the world, and deserves to be recognised, respected, and included just as they are. 💫

Autism is not something to be changed, but a unique and meaningful way of experiencing the world. At McNamara Care & Support, we are continually inspired by the individuals we support and the authenticity, strength, and joy they bring to each day. 🤩

Let’s continue to grow in understanding and acceptance, and create a world where every person feels valued and like they truly belong! 🌈

✨ Client Spotlight: The Magnificent Ela! ✨

We are so proud to shine a light on the incredible Ela and all the amazing things she’s been up to lately! 💫

Ela has been absolutely thriving in her art classes, even creating and sewing her very own unique pillow, how amazing is that!? 🧵🎨

She’s also been stepping into the world of drama classes, where she gets to dance, act, and play games with a likeminded group. It’s been so special to see her push outside of her comfort zone and embrace something new! 🌟

When she’s not busy being creative, Ela loves a cheeky mani-pedi, always coming up with fun and creative nail designs 💅✨

Ela also enjoys spending time at the park with all the doggos, especially her favourite, Cleo the golden! They have developed a very special bond. 🐶💛

On top of all this, Ela has recently started volunteering, helping arrange and deliver beautiful flower bouquets to elderly homes, as well as volunteering with the Hidden Disabilities Program - spreading kindness and making a meaningful impact in her community 💐💖

Ela, you’re doing amazing things, we love to see it! 🌈✨

🌟 Participant Spotlight: Rayyan 🌟

Today we’re shining the spotlight on the wonderful Rayyan, a true family man at heart! 🥰

Rayyan loves nothing more than jumping in the car for a scenic drive, cruising along while listening to his favourite music 🎶🚗

And of course… the extra special days might include a cheeky stop at Hungry Jack’s - his favourite treat! 🍟👑

With his infectious smile and bright energy, Rayyan has a way of instantly lifting the mood of everyone around him 😊✨

Rayyan also enjoys exploring different parks, spending time out in nature, and winding down with his favourite videos on his phone 🍃🍂

Alongside all of this, he has been doing an amazing job building his independence skills, and it’s been so rewarding watching his confidence grow each day 🙌✨

Rayyan, you’re an absolute pleasure to support and we love being part of your journey! 🤩
