Today is R U OK? Day.

Sometimes, one simple question can make a real difference: “Are you OK?”

If someone you know seems quieter than usual, withdrawn, overwhelmed or simply not themselves, take the time to check in. You don’t need to have all the answers — listening and being there can be a powerful first step.

And if you’re the one who isn’t feeling OK, you don’t have to manage it alone.

Your GP can be a good place to start. They can listen, help you work through what’s happening and connect you with further support if you need it.

Today, check in with someone around you — and check in with yourself too.

Ask R U OK? Any Day.

Depending on your age and circumstances, that might mean:

• Talking about contraception or reproductive health
• Getting support with periods, pelvic pain or endometriosis
• Discussing perimenopause or menopause symptoms
• Checking your breast health
• Talking about sleep, stress or mental health
• Or simply booking that appointment you’ve been putting off

You don’t need to wait until something feels wrong to see your GP.

Start your week with a focus on your health. High blood pressure is often called the 'silent condition' because it usually has no clear warning signs, yet it can lead to serious complications like heart disease or stroke. Regular monitoring is essential for identifying potential risks early. The doctors at Chapel Gate Medical Centre can measure your blood pressure, explain what the readings mean, and offer tailored advice to help you manage it effectively. For example, small adjustments like eating more fresh vegetables, incorporating regular exercise, and finding ways to reduce daily stress can significantly improve your health. Why wait to take control of your wellbeing? Regular check-ups empower you to stay ahead of potential health issues and live a healthier life. Call Chapel Gate Medical Centre to book today.
