ā€œUntil when can I continue prenatal yoga during pregnancy?ā€ 🤰

This is one of the most common questions I get asked.

The short answer? You can continue right up until you give birth, and till the time you feel comfortable practising.
(If there are any health complications best to consult your medical provider and work 1:1 with a prenatal specialist for individual guidance.)

As your body changes, your yoga practice should change too. You can modify poses, adjust the intensity and choose movements that suit your stage of pregnancy.

But if you’re wondering what yoga should I do at each week of pregnancy? Check out my online program.

Our 5- Star rated program offers structured, week-by-week guidance to help you move safely and confidently throughout pregnancy, with a library of yoga sessions you can access whenever it suits you.

A little life update… we’re moving to Perth soon! āœˆļø

It’s exciting, but also a little emotional.

Melbourne has been home for so many years, and Mother’z Yoga has grown alongside our family here. From my very first prenatal classes to meeting and teaching hundreds of mums over the years, I’ve made so many beautiful memories here. 🄹

I’ll be teaching my final three Cranbourne sessions this October 10,17 and 24, and if you’ve been to my classes before or have been wanting to come along I’d really love to see you on the mat.

The online program will be running as usual so we can keep practising together wherever we are.

For now, I’m just soaking up these last few weeks in Melbourne and feeling very grateful for all of you who have been part of this journey.

Thank you, Melbourne communityšŸ™

Child’s Pose looks easy… but in pregnancy, it may not always feel that way for all women 🤰

Try these 3 pregnancy-friendly Child’s Pose variations:

1. Knees wide — creates more space for your bump.
2. Supported — rest your head and chest on a bolster or pillows.
3. Hips high — lift your hips a little higher for more space and comfort.

Child’s Pose is a lovely restorative pose during pregnancy, a chance to slow down, breathe and let your body relax.

Which one is your favourite? šŸ‘‡

2ļøāƒ£ Supported

Save this for your next prenatal yoga practice or send it to a pregnant friend.

Rock, paper, scissors… but make it pregnancy. šŸ¤°šŸŖØāœ‚ļø

Because pregnancy isn’t the time to wait until your body feels uncomfortable before you start moving.

It’s about finding movement that supports you where you are, week by week.

So… what are you bringing to the game? šŸ‘€

🪨 ROCK = move, strengthen, stretch, breathe & prepare.

Open mind. Open body šŸ˜‡

Your mindset during labour matters more than we often realise.

In my conversation with Jemma, an experienced midwife with 17+ years of experience, she shared a simple idea that really stayed with me:

ā€œOpen mind, open cervix. Tight mind, tight cervix.ā€

It’s not about having a perfectly positive mindset or believing you can control exactly how your birth unfolds.

It’s about understanding your body, moving with your surges, using your breath, releasing tension and learning to work with your body rather than against it.

And this preparation starts during pregnancy, not when labour begins.

The more you practise these tools through movement, breath and body awareness, the more familiar they’ll feel when you need them.

Join our Yoga for Birth Workshop to learn practical tools and techniques to prepare your body, mind and breath — and learn how you and your partner can support your body through labour.

Motherhood can be beautiful and lonely at the same time.

I’ve been feeling this lately.

Some days, the repetition of feeding, settling, nappies, cleaning and doing it all over again has left me feeling flat and low on motivation.

And I realised I needed to consciously create more movement, fresh air, learning, connection and gratitude in my days.

As a third-time mum, I still need my people.
I still need adult conversation.
I still need something that feels like me outside of motherhood.

And I know I’m not the only one.

So if motherhood has been feeling a little lonely lately, take this as your reminder to do something:

Go for the walk.
Join the class.
Message the friend.
Have the coffee.
Find your community.

Mamas, what else has been helping you. Share it below. You never know who might need to hear it today.

ā€œEngage your pelvic floor.ā€ Easier said than done when you can’t even picture the muscle, right? šŸ¤”

The pelvic floor is hidden muscle — you can’t see it working, so it’s one of the hardest things to teach and to feel. That’s exactly why I brought this little friend home.

Now, instead of vague cues, you’ll be able to SEE the bowl of your pelvis, the muscles that hammock across the bottom, and exactly what’s lifting when I say ā€œengage.ā€ When you can picture it, your body finally understands it.

More than 2 years since I have been using this in my prenatal sessions and it makes a world of a difference when taking about the pelvic floor.
