R E S T

It’s been awhile.
I’ve been resting, replenishing, reflecting.

Thrive is re-forming.
In a new growing cycle.
Sometimes extreme tiredness gives us access to a type of surrender.

I’ve let go of some things.
And I’ve been asking, what really matters?

Matrescence takes us to the core of contemplative questions like this, as parents the horizon extends way into the future, than ever before, and keeps us right here right now.. at the same time.

How am I choosing to meet life today?
What support do I need to meet it?
Do I know?
Can I ask?

Pause to notice, feel, value what you find, ask.

Sending big love

Thrive : Whole Hearted Parenting a 90 minute online workshop

Thriving parents raise children who thrive too.

As parents, we give a lot.. we hold, support, nourish and sooth our children.. but how can we find ways to nourish ourselves too?

If you have ever wondered how to care deeply for your family without abandoning your own needs..
.Or felt out of touch with yourself and each other as partners and parents, in the swirl of family life, this workshop is for you.

✨ Join me to learn some simple receiving practices and how to include them consistently in daily family life.

✨ Together we will practice and explore practical ways to nourish yourself and each other, so giving becomes a natural overflow rather than a stretch.

Who is it for?
Whether you’re pregnant, parenting a newborn, navigating the teenage years, or somewhere in between, you’re warmly welcome. If you’re a grandparent, friend, doula or supporting a family in some way and feel moved to join, please do.

When?
Tuesday 30 June 2026 (630-8pm)

The workshop draws on the Wheel of Consent®, learning through the body, to support you to recognise, value, trust and communicate your wants and needs, create healthy boundaries, and experience more connection, pleasure and ease in family life.

Facilitated by Jo Marie, Midwife, parent, Intimacy & Embodiment Coach and Wheel of Consent® facilitator.

Thriving as a parent begins with whole heartedly embracing that you matter too.

Parenting is rewarding, challenging and everything in between. We can so easily become exhausted, pushing past limits when we are caring for the little ones we love so much.

Our capacity to show up with presence, patience and connection is deeply influenced by how nourished we are.

Nourishment can come in a variety of ways, and they each rely on us being aware of what we want and need. Sometimes making the habit of asking ourselves is the first step.

Here’s a gentle invitation:
pause and ask yourself, What am I noticing in my body right now?

A sensation, numbness, anger, a discomfort.. whatever it is, notice and allow it to be there without trying to change it.

Acknowledge yourself for taking a pause, to connect with your body, yourself and perhaps the ground you’re standing on.

Take a deep breath and ask yourself, what is one thing that you want right now, what could support you? A nap, a hot cup of tea, a neck rub, some help with making food,

It may be possible now, it may not.

What matters is that you asked.
That you made the time to pause, and notice.

When this becomes a habit we become more attuned to our needs, limits and are more likely to ask for and get the things we need.

Over time this can make the difference between exhaustion and deep nourishment.

Noticing our limits and needs isn’t selfish—it’s a foundation for sustainable parenting and healthy relationships.

I love offering spaces for people to gather, share, learn and practice ways to bring more nourishment and pleasure into parenting and life.

There are several ways to do that with me:

✨ 1:1 or couples online sessions
✨ THRIVE groups online & in person
✨ A new 6-week THRIVE group beginning soon in Northern Rivers.

Patenting from a full cup isn’t about perfection. It’s about creating the conditions that allow you to thrive.

Some folks who attended Thrive with myself and Sue, may remember we introduced a practice called the 3 minute game in the relating and sexuality sessions.

That game is one of the core practices of the School of Consent, where I have been studying for many years.

Embodied Consensual communication is a skill and lifelong work in progress for many. When we embody our own limits and can feel, notice and communicate our yes, no and maybe.. life starts to transform.

Agency takes a strong hold, empowerment is tangible and pleasure in all its forms has space to exist.

This is a signature workshop from the School of Consent I am facilitating with psychotherapist Alexandra Heynatz in April.

You’re welcome.
It could be a game changer.

W H E N D O E S P A R E N T I N G B E G I N?

Conception, pregnancy, once birth happens?
What and who chooses this?

There is nothing linear about our process of becoming parents. I believe this is particularly so for the person who is pregnant, literally making room for new life in their body.

For many, it’s a time of profound reflection on life, humanity, suddenly the long view is seen, not just our time, but time stretching back and forwards.

Where are the spaces to gather to reflect and share this potent time and consider what we might need to resource us for the journey ahead?

If there were phases of embodiment connected to motherhood / parenting. What do you suppose they could be?

🙏🧡
