Tomorrow.

Bags packed. We leave for Cambodia in the morning.

Fifteen days, three provinces, eight organisations — and a lot of listening. We’re meeting the people already doing the work, to decide who the Liberty Impact Fund backs first.

Thank you to everyone who has helped get us to this point, and to Myriad Australia for partnering with us on the Fund.

We’ll be posting from the road. If you’d like to be part of this from day one, you can contribute here →

Fifteen days. Three provinces. Eight organisations.

Here’s the route. We start in Phnom Penh (2–7 October), travel north-west to Battambang (7–10 October), and finish in Siem Reap (10–16 October).

In each province we’ll visit organisations supporting people with disabilities and their families — schools, community programs and services — to see the work first-hand and understand who the Fund should back first.

We’ll share what we learn as we go.

Skills that travel both ways.

Funding is only half of what the Liberty Impact Fund offers. The other half is people.

Through our Clinical Sabbatical Practitioner Exchange, experienced Liberty practitioners spend time working alongside Cambodian teams — sharing what we know about behaviour support, and learning from practitioners who achieve remarkable things with very little.

Then they come home, and bring that learning back into their work with clients and families in Australia.

The October trip is where we scope the first placements. If you’re a Liberty practitioner and this sounds like you, keep an eye on this space.

Before we fund anyone, we look for four things.

01 Strong governance — transparent finances and clear, accountable leadership.

02 Measurable impact — real outcomes for people with disabilities and their families, not just good intentions.

03 Shared priorities — a focus on families, education and independence.

04 Long-term vision — local leadership we can back for years, not months.

And one non-negotiable: we meet every prospective partner in person before a dollar is committed. That’s what the Cambodia trip is for.

“Cambodia is where this started for me. It is the right place to begin.”

Ebony Hogg, Head of the Liberty Impact Fund, first worked in Cambodia as a student in international development. What she saw there — the gap between the need and the support available, and the extraordinary local people quietly closing it — never left her.

This October she goes back, this time with a fund behind her and a clear purpose: find the organisations already doing the work, and back them for the long term.

“We’re not arriving with answers. We’re arriving to listen, and to learn from the people who know their communities best.”

We’re going to Cambodia.

From 2 to 16 October, the Liberty Impact Fund team will be on the ground for our first scoping trip: fifteen days, three provinces, eight organisations.

This isn’t a photo opportunity. We’re sitting down with the local organisations supporting people with disabilities and their families — in their classrooms, clinics and community centres — to understand how they work, what they need, and where a partner like us can make a real difference.

The goal is simple: decide who the Fund backs first, and get it right.

Follow along here, and if you’d like to be part of it from the very beginning, you can contribute today →

Every mind deserves the chance to flourish.

That belief has guided Liberty’s work in Australia for years. The Liberty Impact Fund carries it to the places where support is hardest to find.

In many communities across South East Asia, a child with an intellectual disability or autism can be left out of school entirely, and their family left to navigate everything alone. The organisations changing that are usually small, local and stretched thin.

That’s who we back. Care, therapy and genuine inclusion. Classrooms designed for the children most likely to be excluded. And support for families, because no one should have to do this on their own.

Liberty is going global.

Today we’re introducing the Liberty Impact Fund — a new philanthropic initiative dedicated to championing dignity, accessibility and independence for neurodiverse people and people with disabilities in South East Asia.

It’s a donor-advised fund, partnered with Myriad Australia and powered by Liberty Behavioural Services. Rather than build from scratch, we fund the local people already changing lives: small, trusted organisations supporting people with intellectual disability and autism, and the families who care for them.

First stop: Cambodia. In October, our team heads there to meet the organisations the Fund could back. We’ll share the journey here.
