Did you know that dementia (including Alzheimer's disease) is the leading cause of death in Australia?
Almost half a million Australians are currently living with dementia. Many people assume that dementia only affects older Australians and is a normal part of aging, but this isn't the case. 🙅
Due to misconceptions, stigma and the fear of saying the wrong thing, conversations about dementia are often put off. This leads to delayed diagnoses, delayed treatment, and poorer outcomes for those affected. That's why having discussions about dementia is so important, and why Dementia Australia is hosting Dementia Action Week from September 21-27⚠️
