Together, Elise and Will have been working through the practical steps involved in building a photography business, including developing business ideas, researching opportunities within the community, building his portfolio, exploring ways to promote and sell his work, discussing realistic pathways, and breaking larger business goals into achievable steps.
Elise has also supported Will to explore future opportunities for community-based photography, including planning a potential pop-up photography activity and connecting with other services and professionals who may be able to support his self-employment goals.
A recent milestone has been particularly exciting. Will has successfully had his Puffing Billy photograph displayed at a local cafΓ©, allowing his work to be seen by members of his community. Elise supported Will to create a display label featuring a QR code linked to his photography, giving visitors an easy way to learn more about Will and his work, view his photography and explore the possibility of purchasing his photographs.
What started as a collection of ideas, trial and error, is continuing to become something tangible, with Will building not only his photography portfolio, but also the practical business, communication, decision-making and organisational skills needed to work towards self-employment.
Elise is proud to continue supporting Will as he takes these steps towards greater independence and turns "See What I See" into a growing creative venture. π·β¨
