Often it is warning sign that something needs attention. Jacks hip tightness is coming from irritation of his hip joint (labrum)

You can't miss this one 🫣

❌ 50 yo women

❌ Gradually worsening shoulder anterior lateral pain

❌ Can’t reach behind the back

❌ Struggling to put on a bra/jacket

❌ Shoulder feels “stuck”

Answer: frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)

Frozen shoulder isn’t just “tightness” — it’s a progressive stiffening and inflammation of the shoulder capsule that causes severe pain and major loss of movement 🥶

It’s commonly missed early because it can look like a rotator cuff injury, but the BIG clue is loss of BOTH active and passive range of motion (especially external rotation).

Missing it can lead to months of unnecessary pain, delayed rehab, and worsening stiffness

Aching and occasional throbbing

Sharp on rotation and extension of back

Answer: rib sprain
Rib sprain = irritation or stretch of the ligaments between your ribs
Often from twisting, coughing, or impact or postural overload

Phase 1 (settle pain)
• Gentle thoracic mobility
• Breathing drills (key missing piece)
• Light scapular work (rows, retraction)

Phase 2 (restore control)
• Add:
• Rotational control (e.g. open books, band rotations)
• Serratus + oblique activation
• Gradually increase rowing load

Phase 3 (build capacity)
• Then progress to:
• Single arm rows (✔️ good)
• Chest press (gradual)
• Overhead press (last, if tolerated)

Ab separation (diastasis recti) is very common, especially during and after pregnancy, but doing the right exercises at the right time makes a big difference.

In this video:
1. TA activation
2. Leg lifts
3. Leg slides
4. Crunch progression

The key isn’t just doing random core exercises — it’s knowing how wide and how deep the separation is, and whether the linea alba is strong or still needs rehab.

This is why an assessment with an osteo or women’s health practitioner is so important. We measure the separation, assess tension through the abdominal wall, and then prescribe the correct progression of exercises so you don’t make it worse.

If you think you might have ab separation, don’t guess - get it assessed and follow a structured rehab plan.

POV: how I actually fixed my lateral hip pain 👇

1️⃣ Got a clear diagnosis (no more guessing)
2️⃣ Strength tested to find the real weak links
3️⃣ Treatment + dry needling to settle things down
4️⃣ Rehab that actually progressed

My go-to starting point:
✔️ Single leg glute bridge
✔️ Side planks

Simple, but done properly + progressed = 🔑

If your hip keeps flaring up, you probably haven’t fully loaded it yet.
