Last week was a busy one for the team out on the road at an Able Plus Pty Ltd event, the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Alliance meeting, showcasing SDA at a local community day, and then coming together as a senior leadership team to reflect on our first few months as a group, and to strategise for the coming ones.

The key takeaway? There’s a lot to do, and we’re excited about it.

We have some fantastic homes, new opportunities ahead and a team that’s genuinely energised by what we can achieve together.

Most importantly, we’re keen to keep talking to people looking for SDA, their families, support coordinators and providers, and anyone working to find the right home and the right outcome for the people they support.

We are at the very pointy end of business now at our Windsor Avenue, Warragul property.

This week the painter has taped up all the windows and joinery, and spraying has started. Landscaping has continued in between the inclement Gippsland weather and plants have been delivered. Next week painting and landscaping continue. Plus, we look forward to showing some of the participants their new homes!

It's been a busy few days for our Journey Specialist, Emma Punch, who made the trip down to Victoria.

Emma checked in on our two homes at Long Gully and Kangaroo Flat, and attended a Kismet Community Ready Set Connect at Bendigo. Aside from connecting with so many people from the local community, she also won the member's draw! An added bonus of a great morning.

A little bit about Emma:

Emma has dedicated her career to supporting people with disability across SDA, NDIS, respite and community settings. With extensive experience in accommodation services and the not-for-profit sector, she is passionate about helping people achieve their goals and live with greater independence.
