Hi, I'm Steph 👋 I've been a registered nurse for 20+ years, with a background in health education, health promotion and psychology — and these days you'll find me at Peninsula Body Contour, helping people keep their bodies stronger for longer.

If that sounds like something you're curious about, I'd love to chat. I offer a free 15-minute consult, no pressure, just an honest conversation about your body and what might help. Book online, at a time that suits you, and come in for a chat — from there, we go at your pace.

The sneeze-and-cross-your-legs thing.
The bit of leaking on a run.
The thing you've never quite said out loud to anyone.

It's more common than most people realise and it's not something you're stuck with.

The evidence is strong here: women who train the core-to-pelvic-floor connection are up to 8 times more likely to see their symptoms improve or resolve, compared with doing nothing (Cochrane review).

That's not a small effect, it's one of the best-evidenced conservative approaches we have.

It's not about more crunches. It's about retraining your core and pelvic floor to work as the coordinated system they're meant to be.

Swipe through 👉 and if any of this sounds familiar, a nurse-led assessment is where it starts.

If you've ever felt frustrated with your body — like it's changed, or it's working against you — here's a different way to think about it.

Your body has been adapting to every season of your life. Growth, stress, pregnancy, illness, ageing — none of that is failure. It's your body doing exactly what bodies are designed to do: adapt to survive.

That doesn't mean every change has to feel good, or that you have to love every part of it. But it does mean you're not broken. You're adapting.

Your body isn't working against you.

POV: when you can dance, jump and twerk without any leakages 😅💃

Let's talk about it — because so many women just accept leaking when they laugh, sneeze, jump or dance as "normal." It's common, but it's not something you have to just live with.

The pelvic floor is a group of muscles too, and like any muscle, it can be trained. That's where Emsella comes in — it uses HIFEM technology (high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy) to trigger thousands of pelvic floor muscle contractions in a single session, fully clothed, no downtime. It's designed to support pelvic floor strength, which for many people plays a role in stress urinary incontinence.

Like anything, it's not a fit for everyone, and results vary person to person — which is exactly why we start with a conversation, not a treatment.

Want to know if it could help you? Book a free 15-minute consult and let's find out together.

Your body isn't broken. It's adapting — to pregnancy, to stress, to time, to every season you've lived through. That adaptation isn't always comfortable, but it isn't failure either. It's just what bodies do.

This week we're exploring why your body changes, and what that actually means for how you feel, move and understand yourself.

Curious what's behind your own changes?

Myth: weight is the best measure of health.

The scale doesn't tell you this — weight measures mass, that's all. It doesn't distinguish between muscle, fat, bone or water.

Two people can weigh exactly the same and have completely different health stories, because it's body composition, not total weight, that actually reflects metabolic health.

Muscle, fat and water each behave differently in the body, and each has a different relationship to your long-term health.

So next time you're assessing your health, try asking about body composition, not just the number on the scale. Curious what yours actually looks like? Book a free 15 min consultation.
