ONE WEEK TO GO!

AEDPA Presents: Five universities. One panel. Your questions answered.

If you are passionate about psychology but unsure which pathway to take, this one is for you.

AEDPA is hosting a live webinar exploring Educational and Developmental Psychology, a field with career opportunities well beyond traditional clinical roles.

We have brought together the Course Coordinators from every Educational and Developmental Psychology program in Australia for a live panel. Among them are an AEDPA Director alongside the current National Chair and National Treasurer of the APS College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists. Hear directly from the people who run these courses, compare what each program offers, and get your questions answered.

Ideal for Honours and Postgraduate Diploma students, recent graduates, and anyone weighing up where the Ed & Dev pathway could take them.

August 20 | 6:00pm - 7:30pm AEST | Register Online: https://aedpa.org/event-6745494

Everyone who registers receives our updated Ed&Dev companion resource (our 2024 version was so popular it was downloaded over 2,000 times!)

Hosted by us: the only association dedicated to Educational and Developmental Psychologists in Australia.

Myth: Educational and Developmental Psychologists only work with children, and only in schools.

When AEDPA profiled nine Ed & Dev Psychologists for our last pathway webinar, one of them worked in a school.

The other eight worked in: a rare neurodevelopmental disorders clinical trials centre, a maternity hospital supporting mothers through the perinatal period, youth detention centres and courts. Rural and remote Queensland delivering free services by telepractice, The Royal Children's Hospital, a university lecture theatre, and an adults only private practice working with newly identified neurodivergent adults and burnt-out high achievers.

The scope runs the full lifespan, and it runs well past the school gate.

AEDPA's upcoming webinar covers employability and career opportunities across the field, with "Day in the Life" clips from psychologists working in it.
We also have a live panel of Course Directors from every Educational and Developmental Psychology program in Australia. Sitting among them, an AEDPA Director alongside the current National Chair and National Treasurer of the APS College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists.

We have been flooded by concerned members about this morning's paid prac announcement covering "clinical psychology."

The government has used that term as shorthand for the whole pathway before โ€” we're awaiting guidelines to confirm. Don't panic yet. More soon. ๐Ÿ“ข

๐ŸŽฎ Healthy hobby or problematic behavior? ๐Ÿง

As clinicians, distinguishing between healthy engagement, hazardous gaming, and true gaming disorder can be tough; especially as tech keeps rapidly evolving.

Join us on 28 July 2026 at 11am (AEST) for a 90-minute live workshop: Re-connect to Disconnect, presented by Clinical Psychologist and digital wellbeing expert Dr Elwin Hu.

Here is what weโ€™re diving into:
๐Ÿ” The latest evidence surrounding contemporary gaming behaviors.
๐Ÿ“Š A practical risk and resilience framework to use in session.
๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ Why parental involvement is the secret weapon for healthy tech habits.
๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Collaborative, evidence-informed strategies to support families.

Whether you work with children, teens, or young adults, this session will give you the tools to approach tech-related presentations with curiosity and compassion.

๐ŸŽฅ The session will be recorded, but we strongly encourage you to show up live!
