How does Dry Needling work?

Dry Needling involves the insertion of fine acupuncture needles into the skin, fascia and muscle to alleviate pain, muscle tension and reduced range of motion.

Dry Needling into myofascial trigger points causes an analgesic effect by reducing nociceptive activity (pain receptors).

Furthermore, the needle causes a micro-lesion that triggers cell migration to the area which creates tissue remodeling.

This form of treatment should be used as a part of a broader approach to Myotherapy such as an exercise plan.
