Today headspace Frankston celebrates non-binary people’s day. ☺️ 💛🤍💜🖤

Happy International Non-Binary People’s Day 💛🤍💜🖤

Today recognises all those who are outside of the gender binary!

Non-binary people have always existed, and we celebrate all the ways to live authentically beyond gender norms and constructs.

There's no one way to be non-binary, and that's what makes it so special.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander readers are warned that the following social media post contains names of deceased persons.

This NAIDOC Week, we proudly celebrate 50 years of Deadly !

A powerful movement that champions Indigenous voices, culture, and achievements. Let’s honour our past, embrace our present, and inspire our future together.

Let's honour the legacy of trailblazers like Uncle Gary Foley, a passionate activist who fought tirelessly for Indigenous rights, The late Uncle Lionel Rose, a boxing champion who broke barriers, and the late Uncle Charlie Perkins, a powerful voice for Aboriginal rights and equality. The legendary Late Uncle Archie Roach, whose music resonates with stories of resilience and hope.

Additionally, we’re thrilled to share that headspace Frankston and Youth Services Frankston recently ran an engaging weaving holiday program with the amazing Carla Lauch, a proud Gunditjmara – Kirrae Whurrong and Bundjalung woman, fostering creativity and connection among our youth. Together, we continue to celebrate, educate, and advocate for a brighter future!

headspace Frankston and Rosebud are proud join the Sea of Hearts movement as part of Reconciliation Week! 🖤💛❤️

The Sea of Hearts movement aims to bring people together in the spirit of reconciliation. It encourages communities to participate in celebrating our differences while also intoning the ongoing call for justice for our First Nations peoples.

headspace staff created these hearts with messages of reconciliation to show our First Nations young people that they are loved and supported within their community. 🫶 We also enjoyed some delicious scones made by our Aboriginal Youth Mental Health worker Sarah! 😋

This week is National Reconciliation Week (NRW) and is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change. The theme also reminds us that reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights isn’t a passive activity, and it is not solely the responsibility of First Nations people, who have carried the weight of championing, explaining and acting for far too long.

Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.
