The ANMF is the largest union in the country with over 302,000 nurses, midwives and carers joining strongly together since 1924. Our Branches are there for you when you need support and representation, when you have a workplace issue, to help you with education, professional and career development, campaigning for improvements to wages and conditions or when you simply want to talk to other nurses, midwives and carers. Australia’s largest union has unveiled a major national aged care campaign, calling on the Federal Government to address the deepening aged care crisis.

Launching ‘Australia needs care you can count on’ at Parliament House today, the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF)is calling on the federal government to deliver urgent reforms in the aged care sector, including mandated staffing ratios.

The campaign follows the ANMF’s recent national survey of frontline aged care workers, which found the sector was still experiencing systemic understaffing, increased workplace violence, cost-cutting and a lack of transparency for billions of dollars in taxpayer funding.
