It's been one year since Australia introduced the National Lung Cancer Screening Program, helping eligible Australians access free lung cancer screening with a low-dose CT chest scan.

Since then, our Victorian network has performed more than 6,800 low-dose CT chest scans, helping improve access to early detection across communities throughout Victoria.

Lung cancer often has no symptoms in its early stages, which is why screening can play such an important role for eligible Australians.

As we mark this milestone, we're proud to be a part of a program that is helping more people access life-saving screening close to home.

Lake Imaging Wangaratta was proud to sponsor the recent Sports & Exercise Physiotherapy Masterclass at The Gateway Wangaratta.

This Healthy Bones Action Week, take a moment to think about your bone health. Osteoporosis affects more than 1.4 million Australians, but early detection can help identify bone loss before fractures occur.‌

Simple steps like getting enough calcium, staying active with weight-bearing exercise and maintaining healthy vitamin D levels can help support bone health and reduce the risk of osteoporosis.‌

At Lake Imaging, DEXA scans are used to assess bone density and help diagnose osteoporosis and bone thinning. The scan is quick, uses a very low dose of radiation, and can provide valuable insights.‌

Meet Chris Proctor, our CT Manager in Victoria.

Chris has been part of Lake Imaging for over 25 years and is deeply focused on supporting staff, improving patient care, and making every examination as efficient as possible.

With a strong passion for the history of CT, he has seen firsthand how technology has evolved into the fast, highly advanced machines used today, capturing thousands of images in seconds.

He is dedicated to making sure every CT scan is performed at the lowest possible radiation dose, while still delivering the highest quality imaging to support faster reporting and more accurate diagnoses.
