I had the pleasure of attending the Belly, Birth and Beyond Expo recently and it was so much fun! This was the first expo organized by an amazing group of women who wanted to bring together local businesses and services from the pregnancy, birth, and motherhood space for the women of Gippsland. They did a fantastic job with not only a large range of high quality of stalls, but great talks and workshops too. Follow their page for details of next year’s event Belly, Birth & Beyond Gippsland

I loved seeing so many pregnant women, mothers, and babies and chatting all things pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. I had lots of beautiful feedback about my journals and I loved seeing them head off into new hands ready to be used. I met some amazing local businesses who offer fantastic services in the Gippsland area and online too. This was my first expo for Dear Me Mother-to-be™ - Pregnancy Journal hopefully there’s more to come. Steph x

Pregnancy is not always an easy time. It can be full of ups and downs, challenges physically and mentally. You may expect to have a smooth pregnancy, to love it all and walk around with that “glow” they talk about but instead be hit with sickness, body pains or medical challenges with your mental health plummeting! 😣

Whilst it seems like a short time it can feel like forever if you aren’t feeling good and aren’t feeling supported. Make your mental and emotional health a priority.

Journalling is a tool that can help you process the challenges and conflicting emotions of pregnancy. Get any fears, worries, or confusion out of your head and onto paper. It really helps!

🌹Order a copy of the Dear Me Mother-to-be pregnancy journal today to start nurturing your mind and bringing more calm to your day.

It has prompt questions to guide your journalling as well as blank pages to use as you need.

Walk the bridge mumma!! You can do it. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

No one can birth for you. No one can do the inner work to prepare for birth but you.

Expecting your supports to help you get through birth is irresponsible and unrealistic. Yes they will help you prepare for labour to a certain degree and their support during birth is invaluable but ultimately it’s you who has to walk through the flames of birth alone.

You are the mother of creation and have all you need within you to do it.❤️‍🔥

You may find the thought of doing it alone scary, I know I did! But remember birth is a rite of passage that pushes you to your next level of expansion as a woman; from maiden to mother. You need to do it alone to realize your power and strength. These are the qualities of the mother: she can do hard things and does them for the sake of her children.

So yes, have a great supportive birth team in place but remember it’s you that needs to do this and you can do it!

And if it helps, keep in mind whilst you walk alone physically through the flames of birth you are never truly alone, you have support and guidance available to you: sometimes from external supports but also from within and above. 💫

It doesn’t matter what you journal about or even how fancy your journal is, it’s about how it makes you feel!

Lighter. Calmer. Grounded. Freer. Clearer. More relaxed. More self-assured. More creative. Happier. 😌😌😌

Yes journalling (aka writing therapy) can truly make you feel those things. And if you put pen or pencil to paper, instead of using an electronic device, you’ll find the benefits even greater!

If you have never tried journalling before now during pregnancy is a great time to start!

If you have tried it before and not fully enjoyed it, try again with a journal that has easy to follow questions that guide you into a deep and enjoyable journalling experience.

🌹Order your copy of the Dear Me Mother-to-be pregnancy journal now.

Tell me were you shocked and rocked by first trimester sickness?

It’s really something I believe we need to talk about more because many women are suffering alone in those early months of pregnancy. 😔

It can take a big toll on your mental health if you aren’t prepared or supported through the challenges of first trimester.

Some first trimester symptoms can be truly debilitating and just so yuck to deal with!🤢😪

Pregnancy can be an amazing, magical and beautiful time for a woman but it can also be super challenging and testing. The more we be real about it and share all the variations of what can occur, the more women can feel prepared for it and less blindsided by things that haven’t been discussed.
