Sometimes it’s hard to see the strategy behind someone’s kindness, especially when you’d never think that way yourself. You believe it’s genuine, until you realise there are strings attached.

It’s part of why I tend to work alone and stay in my own lane. I’ll often buy products myself, even when a brand has previously reached out, so I can share my honest experience without any obligations.

I’m also careful about the brands I work with. If I wouldn’t buy it, wear it or use it myself, I won’t promote it. I turn down roughly half of what I’m offered because it has to feel right. I’ve walked away from plenty of paid work over the years, because I couldn’t comfortably recommend something I didn’t believe in.

I follow many wonderful women whose knowledge and honest opinions I value. I recently bought skincare after seeing a review from someone I trust. That’s how much an honest recommendation can mean, and why I take your trust in me seriously.

Kindness shouldn’t come with an agenda, and you deserve to know that when I recommend something, I mean it. 🤍
