Most people don't know that a donated body often does far more than help first year medical students learn anatomy.

Cadaver labs are also where practicing surgeons rehearse new techniques before ever trying them on a living patient. Orthopedic teams use donated bodies to practice joint replacements and fracture repairs, and surgeons learning minimally invasive or robotic procedures rely heavily on this kind of hands on training. Medical device companies use cadavers too, testing new instruments and implants in a realistic setting before they're approved for real surgeries.

It's a use most people never think about when they consider whole body donation, focused instead on the image of a classroom dissection. In reality, a single donation can help refine a surgical technique or a piece of equipment that ends up protecting patients for years afterward.

It's a quieter, more technical kind of legacy than most people expect. 🔬
