This deserves a place on the grid! For more than one reason!

Firstly, because the experience itself was magic! Y O U. BY ALEX and Daniel Byrne working together to create this cocoon of healing sound immersion was truely special! To my people who know how much I love my lymphatic drainage sessions with Alex, this takes it up a notch! She maybe booked out for months in advance but do yourself a favour and get on that waitlist…

Secondly, most of you know I am addicted to my craft - and by craft I mean my businesses… and with business comes stress, nervous system dis regulation and sometimes some tears! One of my friends said to me last week ‘looking at your socials, people would just think you’ve got it together ALL of the time’ but this week in particular was a doozy and my body needed the stillness! Business is great, it’s fun, it’s crazy, it’s all consuming and sometimes it’s fu***ng hard and let me tell you I don’t have it together ‘all of the time’! Doing things like this, enable me to get through the challenging days are show up for my team, our clients, my clients and most importantly for my family and for myself! I’m slowly learning that it’s okay to put me first in order to be better!

So like I said, for many reasons this needs a space on the grid and I can’t wait for my next one (which is next thank gawd)!

Sorry, not sorry. Someone has to say it.

We are living in an era where a beautiful label, a satisfying texture and a clever marketing campaign is enough to convince people to spend their hard earned money on something that is doing absolutely nothing for their skin. Or worse, something that is actively working against it.

I am not here for it.

Formulating a skincare product is genuinely complex. Ingredient stability, pH compatibility, preservation systems, efficacy at the right concentration - there are layers to this that most brands will never talk about because it’s easier to just tell you it smells like a flower and has hyaluronic acid in it.

Yes, a product should feel good. Yes, the experience matters. But if it looks and smells incredible and the ingredient list is full of fillers, fragrance and marketing buzzwords? What are we actually doing?

Your skin deserves better than a pretty jar.

This is exactly why I talk about ingredients the way I do. Because once you know what to look for and what to look out for, you cannot unsee it. And you will never shop the same way again.

Face Tanning! What to look for in a product!

So many of you flagged the same concern, congestion, breakouts, clogged pores the morning after. All very valid and I’m sure most people can relate.

Before I trial this new face tanner I wanted to share exactly what I’ll be looking for as a skin therapist AND face tanner consumer.

LETS TALK SPF…. Because your moisturiser with SPF15 is not going to cut it!

After 18 years in skin I have very strong opinions about sun protection. Swipe through for everything you need to know about tinted SPF and how much you actually need to be applying (spoiler: it’s more than you think).

I have tested more SPFs over the years than I care to count, but there are two I keep coming back to every single time!

is my pick for sensitive, reactive or redness prone skin. Mineral, clean and genuinely comfortable to wear everyday. This is a staple in my everyday routine. Dewy finish, healthy looking skin. Win!

Sticky Zinc is the one I reach for when I want more coverage and a beautiful matte finish. Brilliant if you want your SPF to double as a light base!

In terms of finish, think
Avocado Zinc = Dewy finish (those who love the shine)
Stick Zinc = Matte Finish (those who are oily but want to be more matte)

Both feel beautiful on the skin and are 50SPF!

And for those of us who don’t love wearing a full face of makeup everyday, either of these can absolutely stand in place of foundation. This is my daily ‘makeup’ I only reach for the hard stuff when I have an event. Protect your skin, even out your tone and get on with your day!

Neither brand is paying me to say this - both have very genuinely earnt their place!

Save this for when you are in the market for your next SPF and drop your fav SPF in the comments!

As a skin therapist of 18 years I have genuinely stood in front of clients, picked up their beloved products, read the ingredient list, and said “I’m sorry but this needs to go straight in the bin.” Not my most diplomatic moment. But always the honest one.
The truth is the beauty industry is really good at making things look, smell and feel like they’re working. Luxurious textures. Beautiful packaging. That satisfying tingle that actually just means your skin barrier is being disrupted, not treated.

Swipe through this one and save it. This is just scratching the surface but two big nasties people over look! Next time you’re standing in Mecca or Priceline, pull it up before you buy. Your skin will thank you and your wallet might too.
