Kindred Being

Kindred Being A facilitator of movement & meditation, a practitioner of herbal medicine, a lover of nature.

As a degree-qualified Clinical Herbalist I am highly trained to combine the traditional wisdom and energetics of plant medicine with the skilled clinical experience of a health practitioner, utilising current scientific research and appropriate medical examinations to validate the prescribed treatment, specific for each individual. The yoga classes I facilitate are inclusive and open to all, regar

dless of prior experience. I have been teaching in a variety of spaces (studio, corporate, large groups, private) for 8+ years. Overall my approach as a facilitator is grounded, effective and intuitive as I encourage gentle self-enquiry and deep connection to self utilising movement, breath and meditation. Continuing to study and accumulate knowledge of the spiritual, emotional and physiological realms of being human; shedding light on our inherent self-healing capacity and; exploring the prevention of mental and physical dis-ease, I aim to cultivate a safe and nourishing place for personal growth, vitality and well-being.

In my trauma-informed Kundalini Yoga therapy sessions, we prioritise safety, choice and nervous system regulation over performance or perfection.

Healing doesn’t happen by revisiting the story or pushing through it. It happens by creating the conditions where your body and mind feel safe again.

Ego Eradicator with Breath of Fire ~ breaking down a powerful kriya of Kundalini Yoga

🗣️Tune in with the Adi mantra

1) Find a comfortable seat: Sit cross-legged on the floor with a straight spine 🧘🏽‍♀️

2) Focus: Close your eyes and roll them upward and inward focusing at the Third Eye point 👁️(the sixth chakra, Ajna, located between your eyebrows).
✨This activates the power of your intuition and inner wisdom.

3) Set your arm position: Raise your arms to form a 60° angle, keeping the elbows straight.
✨This directs the energy into the Pranic Heart 💓 centre.

4) Hand Mudra: Curl your fingers into the base of your palms and point your thumbs straight up, stretching the thumbs away from the fingers.
✨This is to offer our personal Ego represented by the thumb 👍🏾 up to the Infinite, honouring our Higher Self.

5) Begin Breath of Fire: Breathe rapidly and rhythmically through your nose. Forcefully exhale by pulling your belly in toward your spine, and inhale passively by letting your belly relax. Continue for 3 minutes.
✨This activates through the third chakra, Manipura, to alchemise Prana and Apana which sets alight the dormant Kundalini within, and our 💪🏾 personal power.
✨Also helps to stimulate the gas exchange of oxygen into the blood stream, through the lungs 🫁 powerfully oxygenating the brain and cells to provide a renewed sense of energy.

6) Closing: Inhale deeply, bring the thumbs to touch above your head, hold your breath briefly, apply the root lock and neck lock, then exhale 🌬️and sweep your arms down.
✨This consolidates the Prana we have built, by consolidating between the two bandha (root and neck) also assisting with the conditioning of our nervous system function.
✨Sweeping the arms down provides a personal shield of protection through your electro-magnetic field.

7) Finish with the hands back to earth or your lap, notice your foundation below and observe with a regular breath what you have created within 🌀

the humble path of teacher

~ being a yoga teacher has been one of the main constants in my life over the past 14 years (I was surprised to consider this) through various study, other careers/ jobs, relationships, locations, countries, houses, focus and mindsets

~ looking at my own evolution of self-acceptance, ego/ identity, and wisdom reflected in my practice, projection and understanding of Yoga as a spiritual science

~ the humility and grace of sharing intentional time and space with other humans

~ exploring theme, tone, language, breath, energy, vibration and shape

~ unsure of the path, and finding the way, again and again

~ my main lesson as ‘teacher’ has been imparting the knowing and autonomy back into the student that ‘you are your own best teacher’ 🤲🏾

Do you find that “time” can either speed up or slow down? Here’s why, and a concept on how to create more time 🕰️

💬 Every single thought we have travels through this mental assembly line within seconds, according to Kundalini Yoga.
🌀 First hits the Negative Mind, which instantly scans for danger to keep you safe.
🌀 Next, the Positive Mind takes over to look for opportunities, potential, and creative solutions.
🌀 Finally, the Neutral Mind weighs both perspectives without emotional bias to make a wise, intuitive decision.

🤯 Emotional suffering and poor decision-making occur when a thought gets “stuck” in one part of this sequence instead of flowing completely through to the Neutral Mind.

〰️Cultivating the Flow 〰️
In Kundalini Yoga, the goal is not to eliminate the Negative or Positive minds, but to train the mental mechanics so thoroughly through meditation that thoughts flow effortlessly into the Neutral Mind within seconds. This rapid processing is to operate from intuition rather than impulse.
