What Is Sensitive Skin?
Sensitive skin is skin that reacts more easily than expected to everyday triggers that may not cause irritation for others. These triggers can include changes in weather, skincare and cosmetic products, soaps, fragrances, environmental factors or certain ingredients.
You may notice symptoms such as dryness, redness, itching, stinging, burning or changes in skin tone, either immediately or sometime after exposure to a trigger.
Simply put, sensitive skin can be selective. Your skin may let you know when it is unhappy with a particular product, ingredient or environmental change. Once the trigger is removed and the skin barrier is supported, the skin will often settle and return to its normal state.
Sensitive skin is very common and can vary in severity. At Skinastute, we take a personalised approach to understanding your skin, identifying potential triggers and creating a skincare plan designed to support and strengthen your skin barrier.
