Hi, I’m Tina! I’m a fourth-year physiotherapy student at Monash University, and I’m excited to be joining the team for a five-week placement.

I was drawn to physiotherapy because it combines movement, problem-solving and the opportunity to help people return to the activities they enjoy. I’ve completed placements across acute, inpatient and outpatient settings, with outpatient rehabilitation being a particular favourite. I love building connections with patients, adapting their exercise programs and watching their movement and confidence improve along the way.

I’m especially interested in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, rehabilitation and exercise prescription.

Having lived across different cultures, I speak Persian, Turkish and English. This has helped me appreciate how important it is for people from all backgrounds to feel comfortable, welcomed and understood.

Outside of physiotherapy, you’ll usually find me at the gym, working on getting stronger and staying active. I’m also the proud owner of Mr Waffle, my toy Cavoodle and very demanding personal step-count coach. He makes sure I never miss our daily walk!

I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and learning from the team and community throughout my placement.

One of our physiotherapists, Maddy, spent last week working as the physiotherapist at the Ultimate Frisbee Championships in NSW. From warm-ups to game-time injuries, she helped keep athletes performing at their best. We know all the competitors were in great hands!

Last week we had the wonderful Nicole and Stevie present to us from Uplift Health: a women's health Physiotherapy Clinic.

We learnt so much about stress urinary incontinence: how to assess for it and the role a women's health physio plays in the management of this.

We were so lucky to have them share their knowledge with us. Thank you to the team at Uplift Health!

My name is Ella, and I'm a second-year Master of Physiotherapy student at RMIT University. I'll be completing my placement with the team over the next few weeks, and I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone and learning from such an experienced group of clinicians.

A little bit about me – I grew up in China before moving to Australia and have been working in healthcare for several years as a registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Practitioner. Becoming a physio was a natural next step for me, as I wanted to build on my existing skills and better support patients through rehabilitation and long-term recovery.

Before studying physiotherapy, I gained extensive experience treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions in private practice. During my physio training, I've completed placements in private practice - Kiser and have had the opportunity to work with mainly elderly populations. One area I'm particularly passionate about is neurological rehabilitation, especially paediatrics. My interest developed after working alongside a mentor who specialises in this area and seeing the incredible improvements children could achieve through a combination of physiotherapy and acupuncture.

I enjoy treating a broad range of conditions, but I'm especially interested in neurological rehabilitation, paediatrics, and helping people regain confidence and function in their everyday lives.

Outside of physio, I'm a proud mum to my two-year-old daughter, who keep me busy. I also have two cats and a dog at home, so life is always entertaining. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, watching medical dramas, and I've recently been trying my hand at gardening. I haven't had much success so far, but I'm determined to keep giving it a go!

I'm excited to be part of the team and look forward to getting to know everyone over the course of my placement.
