A note for the drivers in our community — heavy vehicle, bus, taxi, or rideshare partners on Uber, DiDi, Ola or Bolt.
Commercial driver medicals in Victoria are assessed against the same national Austroads standards used everywhere in Australia, with VicRoads as the licensing authority. The clinical assessment is identical to what's done in our Queensland clinics — vision, cardiovascular health, sleep and fatigue, diabetes, neurological history, mental health, musculoskeletal function, medications.
We've just published a guide written from our Queensland clinics, so it references TMR forms specifically. The forms are different in Victoria, but the underlying clinical standard is the same. Worth a read for the wider context on what's involved and why these medicals matter beyond the paperwork.
For Ringwood patients, our GPs handle commercial driver medicals as part of our workplace health services — get in touch if you've got one coming up.
