Our Oaklea Hall residents had such an amazing day out at Caulfield Racecourse yesterday. We absolutely loved the energy trackside - watching the races, taking in the atmosphere, and getting to see the horses and jockeys right up close! 🏇🏇🏇

It was such a relaxing way to spend the afternoon yesterday - listening to music, having a chat, and shaping tiny clay sculptures by hand. Looks like our Grand Cedar residents really got the hang of it… 😎🏺And the best thing is, once all these little pieces dry out, they’re actually getting packed up and sent to Italy to become part of a huge collective sculpture for the Venice Art Biennale! 🇮🇹✨

Our Casey Manor residents enjoyed a beautiful sunny day out at the Tulip Festival! 🌷☀️

It was a wonderful opportunity to get out into the community, and spend quality time with friends. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxed and cheerful, providing a great space for meaningful social engagement and the joy of a fresh, new experience. 🫶 🤩

Everyone returned home in good spirits after such a lovely spring outing, and we can’t wait to hear all about it! ❤️

For International Day of Older Persons at Casey Aged Care, we had the absolute honour of welcoming Dr. .palipana OAM as our special guest speaker. As a doctor, lawyer, scientist, and disability advocate (as well as the 2021 Queensland Australian of the Year), Dr. Palipana’s story is extraordinary! 🤩 He is the first quadriplegic medical intern in Queensland, the second person with quadriplegia to graduate as a doctor in Australia, and the first Australian doctor with a spinal cord injury.

He was incredibly inspiring, sharing his personal journey of resilience, determination, and achievement. Our residents were deeply engaged and moved. 🌟

It was a beautiful way to celebrate older people and gave our residents a meaningful opportunity to connect with an exceptional Australian who continues to inspire so many. 🫶🥰

What a fun and creative Sunday afternoon we had sharing stories with our international student friends from ! 🎨✨

MACG residents and students collaborated on a beautiful project called the Community Story Quilt: A Piece of My Story. Everyone shared conversations about their backgrounds, favourite traditions, and what "home" means to them. These stories were then brought to life on individual canvas squares which were combined into one large, vibrant community quilt, proudly displayed as a beautiful reminder of the connections we made. 🫶❤🪡

Our Northern Gardens residents had a great time watching the Italian comedy Holy Canoli on the big screen for the Italian Film Festival 🎬🇮🇹 ! And of course we had to keep the Italian spirit going after, so we topped it off with a delicious shared pizza lunch. 🍕

It was really a beautiful day filled with plenty of laughs, and beautiful moments spent together. 🫶🥰

It was so much fun enjoying the fresh air and taking a ride on the iconic ! 🚂🌳

For many of our residents, it brought back some beautiful memories, and it was obviously just as much fun for our staff, sharing the experience together with residents. Getting out and about and enjoying the sunshine are such important parts of life at MACG. 😍

It’s a simple question, but taking the time to ask it can make a world of difference. Today is a great reminder for all of us to check in with the people around us - whether that’s a family member, a friend, a neighbour, or a colleague. ❤️

Across our MACG homes, connection is at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s our wellbeing teams taking the time for a quiet chat, the kitchen staff knowing exactly how someone likes their morning tea, or residents simply looking out for one another, creating a supportive community is what makes it a true home. 🫶🥰

Someone swapped their uniforms for a pair of bowling shoes! 🎳

Our Traralgon team headed out for a staff bowling night, and it’s safe to say there was a whole lot of fun (and some friendly rivalry 🫣😬).

It’s great to get the team together outside of work to just unwind, catch up, and have some fun. We are so lucky to have such a close knit, supportive crew up at Traralgon, and we know they bring that exact same energy into the home every single day. 🫶 😍
