🌟 Exploring, Learning & Building Confidence in Geelong! 🎮🎨🎱

Our Geelong Work Simulation participants, alongside Employment Coach Lachie and Work Integrated Learning Officer Lorraine, recently spent the day at the fantastic Nest Youth Hub Geelong. 💙

Hosted by the amazing Steph and Anna, participants had the opportunity to relax, connect and enjoy everything the hub has to offer, from video games 🎮 and pool 🎱 to arts and crafts 🎨, plus some delicious snacks and lunch 🍕🍎.

Steph and Anna shared valuable information about the Youth Hub and the many FREE programs and supports available to young people aged 12-25. Participants also gained insight into the world of work as Steph and Anna talked about their own career journeys, workplace expectations, and even how their attire changes depending on whether they're working in the council offices or delivering youth programs. 👔👟

The visit wrapped up with a fantastic Q&A session, giving participants the chance to ask questions and learn more about employment and career pathways. To finish the day, the group headed to Westfield Geelong, where they explored appropriate interview attire at Target and discussed how presentation can help make a positive first impression. ✨

A huge thank you to Steph, Anna and The Nest Youth Hub team for creating such a welcoming and engaging experience! 🙌

"4gr have given me the confidence, accountability, guidance, and motivation I gain through mentoring supports and the positive impact these have on maintaining focus on my employment goals." – Sean

Sean has been part of the 4gr community for over a decade, and throughout his journey, he has continued to build skills, confidence, and independence. 🌟
Sean has explored career pathways aligned with his interests, recently completed a Certificate III in Animal Care Services, and gained valuable industry experience through volunteering with GAWS. 🐶🐱

And with 4gr Mentor Karryn's ongoing guidance and support, Sean continues to stay focused on his employment goals and pursue opportunities within the animal care industry. We are incredibly proud of everything he has achieved and look forward to seeing what comes next on his employment journey. 💪✨

Our 4gr Laverton Work Simulation participants, alongside Nicole, Sarah, James and Alex, were lucky enough to enjoy a fantastic Work Taster experience at the club.
A special thank you to Fraser, Careers and Volunteer Officer, for taking us behind the scenes and sharing valuable insights into the many employment pathways available within the football industry. 👏

🌟 Work Tasters give participants valuable exposure to real workplaces, helping them explore career options, understand different job roles, and build confidence for their future employment journey.

Experiences like these help our participants discover new possibilities, build confidence, and gain a greater understanding of the world of work. 💙

Passionate about helping people explore employment and education pathways 🎓💼, Bili loves supporting participants to build confidence, reach their goals, and celebrate important milestones along the way 🎉.
When she's not advocating for opportunities and creating meaningful experiences, you'll find her enjoying her garden 🌻🍅 with her newly adopted orange cat 🐈🧡 close by.
