🚨 STOP obsessing over protein. Start understanding it.

One of the biggest nutrition myths I hear is, “I don’t think I’m getting enough protein.”

Here’s the reality…

🥩 Most people in Western countries are already getting enough protein. The question isn’t just how much it’s the quality, the timing, and whether it’s supporting your health goals.

Here’s what actually matters:

🌱 Choose better-quality protein.
Include more plant-based proteins like lentils, beans, chickpeas, tofu, nuts and seeds. They provide protein while also supporting your heart, gut and long-term health.

💪 Aim for the right amount.
Most adults should aim for at least 1g of protein per kg of body weight each day. If you’re strength training, building muscle or going through menopause, your needs may be higher.

⏰ Time it right.
Having protein within 2 hours after starting training helps repair muscle, support recovery and maximise strength and muscle growth.

✨ Protein isn’t about eating more. It’s about eating smarter.

Save this post for later and send it to someone who’s constantly asking, “Am I getting enough protein?”

👇 What’s your favourite source of protein?

Powerful reminders that nutrition is not an “extra” in oncology care it is a vital part of supporting treatment, recovery, and patient wellbeing. Day 1 at MOGA down Three things I’m taking back to my clients: This is why ongoing education matters so much in this field the research keeps evolving, and so should the care we give.Three key takeaways from the MOGA Conference on Nutrition in Oncology
1. Take the time to uncover each patient’s nutritional needs.
The most important conversations often happen when we slow down, ask the right questions, and truly understand what patients are eating, struggling with, and needing throughout their cancer journey.
2. Focus on nutrient-dense nutrition during cancer treatment.
When appetite is poor, every mouthful counts. Prioritise small-volume, high-quality, nutrient- and protein-rich foods that deliver maximum nutrition to support treatment, recovery, and quality of life.
3. Protein and energy requirements are critical.
Adequate protein helps preserve muscle mass, strength, and function. Muscle loss can impact treatment tolerance and, in some cases, lead to delays or early cessation of therapy. Meeting both protein and calorie requirements is essential to optimise outcomes. ”

Creating food that nourishes your body and wins your heart…….that’s my happy place.
There is nothing I love more than creating food people genuinely fall in love with.

After years as a dietitian, my greatest reward isn’t just knowing the nutrition is there it’s watching people Love ❤️❤️ it after that first sip and hearing them say, “I can’t believe it’s soooooo good”.

That’s why I created Healthy Empire. Every smoothie is made with purpose, combining incredible flavour with real nourishment, so healthy becomes something you actually crave.

This is what I love doing every single day... creating, sharing, and watching people enjoy something that’s good for them.

And seeing Healthy Empire grow into more amazing stores is incredibly exciting.

Do you ❤️ your coffee??? ☕ My mornings, backed by science.
I made this smoothie because I ❤️❤️❤️ coffee a very long time ago and it turns out the American Heart Association just confirmed it’s doing more for me than I thought. Their new July 2026 statement says up to 5 cups a day is safe for most of us, and it’s linked to a lower risk of heart disease, heart failure, stroke, and even Type 2 diabetes.
Dr. Gregory Marcus, who led the review at UCSF, put it simply: “For most adults, intake of up to 400 mg of caffeine a day is safe and does not increase cardiovascular risk.”
The one thing keep it black, or close to it. That’s where the benefit actually lives.
This is the Healthy Empire way: small daily rituals, backed by real evidence, not hype.
Brewed with love, good for the heart. 🤎

☕ Turns out your morning ritual is doing more than waking you up.
New research from the American Heart Association confirms what we’ve always believed at Healthy Empire: coffee, enjoyed the right way, is part of a healthy life. Their July 2026 statement found that up to 5 cups a day is safe for most adults — and is linked to a lower risk of heart disease, heart failure, stroke, and even Type 2 diabetes.
As Dr. Gregory Marcus of UCSF, who led the review, put it: “For most adults, intake of up to 400 mg of caffeine a day is safe and does not increase cardiovascular risk.”
The catch? It’s the plain, black coffee that carries the benefit — skip the sugar and syrups to get the most out of every cup. ❤️
So here’s to the ritual — brewed fresh, enjoyed properly, good for the heart.

Injury has hit pause on my running... but it hasn’t stopped me from moving. 💪

No run today, but you will still find me at my 3pm Pilates class because movement is medicine. Sometimes we need to change the way we train, not stop training altogether.

Exercise isn’t just about fitness its soooooo much about feeling stronger, improving your mindset, and looking after your body, even when it’s not performing at its best.

Listen to your body, adapt, stay consistent, and keep showing up. Your future self will thank you. ✨

This is how simple it is to create a lunch in seconds to achieve your goals!

High-protein lunches don’t have to be complicated. In fact, you can build one in seconds!

One of the biggest keys to managing your appetite is bridging the gap between lunch and dinner. A lunch with 20–40g of protein helps keep you fuller for longer, supports muscle health, and reduces those afternoon snack cravings.

Today I’m using my favourite Lazupp pumpkin soup as the base. Then I simply add:
🥣 Chickpeas for extra fibre and plant protein
🐟 Tuna or 🥚 2 boiled eggs to easily reach around 30g of protein
🥦 A generous serve of broccoli which is my favourite vegetable! It’s packed with nutrients, antioxidants and compounds that support healthy ageing, making it one of my go-to foods for looking and feeling my best. I call it my reversing ageing vegetable.

Keep it simple, hit your protein target, load up on vegetables, and your body will thank you.
