A question I get a lot: "does skin needling actually do anything, or is it just trendy?"
The mechanism is well understood. Controlled micro-injury to the skin triggers a wound-healing response - your body responds by producing new collagen and elastin over the following weeks. It's not an overnight change; it's a gradual remodelling process, which is why a course of treatments (rather than a single session) tends to be recommended for anything beyond general skin maintenance.
What often gets left out of the conversation is aftercare. It's not an optional extra tacked on at the end - it's part of the treatment itself. What you do (or don't do) in the days after directly affects how your skin heals and how much benefit you get from the session. That means sun protection, the right post-treatment products, and following the specific instructions given to you at your appointment - not a generic list off the internet.
As a Registered Nurse, I'll talk you through what's realistic for your skin, how many sessions might be appropriate, and what aftercare will look like for you specifically, before we start anything. Individual results vary, and that's a conversation worth having properly, not glossing over.

This post is general information for consumers and is not a recommendation to seek prescription-only products. All medical and cosmetic procedures come with common side effects, as well as serious health risks, which should be discussed thoroughly in consultation, prior to commencement of any prescribed or non-prescribed treatment.
