Home visits are offered by the GPs for their patients in the local area from Monday to Friday. As provision of home visits is time consuming and it takes the GP away from providing consultations to other patients, they are only provided where strictly necessary and will always be charged at the full fee. Patients should phone and speak with a nurse if needing a home visit.

Self check-in is now available at Blackburn Clinic, Blackburn Specialist Centre and Carson Suite.
For patients who have an appointment with a GP in that suite on that day.
Look for the wall-mounted check-in station in each waiting room. Hand sanitiser is conveniently wall-mounted close by.
If the system cannot find your appointment check with our friendly reception team – your doctor might be in a different location!
Using the self-check-in terminal is optional. The reception team remain our primary method of greeting and welcoming you to the practice.

Your feedback about BLACKBURN CLINIC CARSON SUITE.

With an overall satisfaction level of 99% it would be tempting to rest on our laurels for a while... but we can always do better!

Seeing the GP of your choice (Continuity of Care) was the individual area of most concern. We will address this through staff education regarding the importance of rebooking patients with the same GP (where possible) and by marketing the importance and value (in terms of health outcomes) of seeing the same GP to patients. As the independent medical practitioners have full control over the hours they work, it patients may prefer to forward book review appointments if they have conditions that need monitoring.

We really appreciate the time you took to fill out the patient surveys in May 2026.

Your feedback about BLACKBURN SPECIALIST CENTRE!

The graphics show that overall you are very satisfied with the care, the GPs and the staff at Blackburn Specialist Centre, also that we have improved since over the last few years..... but we can always do more!

The three lowest scores were
1. Obtaining a home / other visit
2. Knowledge of the After Hours Service
3. Waiting time in surgery.

Home visits are offered by the GPs for their patients in the local area. As provision of home visits is time consuming and it takes the GP away from providing consultations to other patients, they are only provided where strictly necessary and will always be charged at the full fee. Patients should phone and speak with a nurse if needing a home visit.

To improve patient knowledge of the After Hours Service, we will increase signage, social media and website information about Home Visits.

We recognise that waiting times once you arrive can be frustrating - we will look for ways to proactively communicate delays to patients, as well as recommend extra catch-up time slots for GPs who regularly run behind schedule (note – independent GPs each choose their own appointment book set up).

We will also focus on improving continuity of care by marketing to patients and staff about the value (in terms of health outcomes) of seeing the same GP .

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey in May 2026.

10 Years of Hard Work!
The graduation of Dr Damian Azzollini, Dr Crystal Li and Dr Samuel See represents 10 years of medical school and practical placements. Countless late nights and sacrifices went into achieving this. They are each now a recognised Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. We are proud of them and lucky to have them consulting at Blackburn Clinic.

We value service and intend to retain our reception team as the chief method of greeting and welcoming patients to the clinic. We see the self-check-in option as useful on those occasions when there are long queues at the reception desk. We hope to have the self-check-in screens up and running some time in August.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a virus that causes infection in the lungs and airways. It is highly contagious. It is one of the most common causes of respiratory (breathing) infections in children, including the common cold.
It is not possible to prevent RSV infection, but vaccination can help reduce the severity of illness, particularly in the very young and older people. It can cause severe illness such as bronchiolitis or pneumonia.
RSV vaccination is recommended for:
* pregnant women, to protect their newborn infant
* all people 75 years and older and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 60 years and older
* people 60 years and older with medical risk factors for severe RSV disease
