Melbourne Pregnancy and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

Melbourne Pregnancy and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy Your experts in Pregnancy and Pelvic Floor Physio across Melbournes North West Rebecca and Karina are passionate about what they do.

Melbourne Pregnancy and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy was created by Rebecca Liberatore and Karina Coffey who had a combined vision of creating a Specialist Pregnancy and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy Clinic in Melbourne’s North West. Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy has high levels of evidence supporting treatment of pelvic floor disorders and yet, access to these services and knowledge that help is availabl

e is limited, meaning many still suffer in silence. Karina and Rebecca have a goal of spreading the word that these conditions are common but NOT normal and help is available. No one should have to put up with these incredibly debilitating and socially isolating conditions. Both Rebecca and Karina have extensive background working in large maternity hospitals and this acute hospital experience significantly enhances their work at Melbourne Pregnancy and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy, providing a comprehensive understanding the acute presentation of patients immediately post-natal through the full continuum of recovery.

Do you know the difference between bladder urgency and a normally full bladder?

A full bladder usually gives you a gradual signal as it fills, and you can generally hold on comfortably. Bladder urgency can feel much more sudden, strong and difficult to delay — sometimes even when your bladder is not very full.

You may also notice that you are rushing to the toilet, going more often than usual or feeling like you cannot hold on for long.

Bladder urgency is common, but it is not something you have to simply put up with. A pelvic health physiotherapist can help identify what may be contributing and provide strategies tailored to you. 🙌

A little look at our recent MPPP Team Day 💜

We spent the afternoon together at our Essendon clinic, catching up as a team, updating our professional photos and, most importantly, giving back.

Together we assembled Clean Birth Kits for the Birthing Kit Foundation Australia, helping support women giving birth in rural and low-resource communities around the world. 🌏

Such a lovely afternoon bringing our team together, sharing plenty of laughs and taking some time away from the usual clinic day to connect and contribute to something meaningful.

A very special afternoon for the MPPP team 💛🙌

Melbourne Pregnancy and Pelvic Physio is looking for a physiotherapist to join our Essendon North studio for casual group exercise class cover.

Our group program runs reformer, trapeze table, and mat-based classes - primarily for pre and postnatal women, alongside a broader mix of women training with (or without) pelvic floor dysfunction, bone health considerations, or general fitness goals.

We'll give you initial training so you're confident managing modifications across these different patient groups.

What matters most to us is flexibility - we need someone who can step in at short notice to cover sick leave and keep a class running.

Typical class times:
Evenings, 5–8pm, Monday to Thursday
Mornings from 7am on weekdays
Occasional Saturday mornings
Daytime shifts also available

Short-notice casual cover is the priority, though there's scope for more regular shifts too.

If you've got an interest in dipping your toe into women's and pelvic health, and casual, flexible group class work sounds like your kind of gig, we'd love to hear from you.

Get in touch to find out more. Email [email protected] or DM here!

Your pelvic floor is about much more than strength alone. 🩵

It needs to contract, relax, lengthen and work together with your breath and core at the right time. That means a pelvic floor can sometimes feel tight or overactive while still not giving you the support you need.

This is why doing more squeezes is not always the answer. The right approach depends on how your pelvic floor is functioning as a whole. ✨

A pelvic health physiotherapy assessment can help identify what your body needs and guide you with exercises that are suited to you. 💜

🔗 Questions about your pelvic floor? Book an appointment with our team via the link in our bio or give us a call on 9337 9125.
