🚨 What if your histamine intolerance isn't being driven by the food?

Many people focus on avoiding high-histamine foods.
But sometimes the bigger issue is what's happening in the gut.

🛡️ A healthy gut barrier helps keep unwanted substances out of the bloodstream.
When that barrier becomes damaged, the immune system becomes exposed to more triggers.

🔥 More immune activation can mean more histamine release.
This can contribute to symptoms even when your diet hasn't changed.

🦠 An inflamed gut can also activate mast cells.
These cells store histamine and release it when they sense a threat.

🧬 Your gut lining produces DAO, one of the main enzymes that breaks down histamine.
If the gut lining is damaged, DAO production may be reduced.

⚖️ An imbalance in gut bacteria can also increase histamine production within the gut.
Meaning histamine may be coming from more than just food.

🌱 That's why when it comes to histamine intolerance, it's important to look beyond what's on your plate and consider what's happening in your gut.

🚨 Why removing histamine foods isn't always enough!

Yes - A low-histamine diet can help reduce symptoms.
But - it doesn't always explain why histamine intolerance developed in the first place.

6 Ways to help:

🛡️ Support the Gut Barrier
A healthy gut barrier helps regulate what passes from the digestive tract into the bloodstream.

🦠 Identify Gut Infections & Dysbiosis
Underlying gut imbalances may contribute to inflammation and histamine production.

😌 Manage Stress
Chronic stress can affect digestion, the gut microbiome and gut barrier function.

🍽️ Support Digestive Function
Healthy digestion helps reduce the burden on the gut and immune system.

🥦 Optimise Nutrition
The gut lining requires specific nutrients to maintain and repair itself.

🔥 Address Inflammation
Reducing inflammation may help improve both gut barrier function and histamine tolerance.

🌱 Sometimes it's not about removing more foods. It's about understanding why your body is struggling with histamine in the first place. Leaky Gut is one part of this; read more about leaky gut and histamine intolerance in this month's blog.

💚 'Finally a meal plan from someone who knows how to cook!' Love this feedback from one of my clients 💚

If you are in this group and haven’t bought her low-histamine ebooks yet, do it now. I am sorry I waited to buy them.

I had other ebooks, meal plans and recipes, but Luanne’s recipes are good enough to feed everyone in the family.

Great flavour, good variety, and well organized. I wish I had them when I started this journey in December! Thank you Luanne!

Are you tired of battling histamine symptoms without a clear plan, unsure of what to eat and how to keep those annoying reactions at bay?

🛡️ Your gut lining acts like a barrier between your digestive tract and the rest of your body.

⚠️ When that barrier becomes damaged, it's often referred to as "leaky gut."

🔥 This can increase inflammation and immune activity.

🧬 It can also affect DAO, one of the main enzymes responsible for breaking down histamine.

🤔 The result?

🚨 Your body may struggle to manage histamine effectively, contributing to symptoms such as headaches, itching, flushing, bloating and food sensitivities.

🍅 That's why when it comes to histamine intolerance, it's important to look beyond just the food. 🌱

🧠 What if your body isn't broken.....it's just stuck in survival mode?

When your nervous system stays switched on, you may notice:
😴 Constant fatigue
😰 Anxiety or feeling on edge
🧠 Brain fog
🍽️ More food reactions
🔥 More symptoms from everyday stress

Before you assume you need another supplement or a stricter diet...

✨ Take the Healing Quest Quiz and discover which healing pattern may be keeping your body stuck. Sometimes the biggest breakthrough starts with understanding why your body is reacting in the first place.

🚨 What contributes to leaky gut?

Your gut lining acts as a protective barrier, helping to control what passes from your digestive tract into your bloodstream.

When this barrier becomes compromised, it's often referred to as increased intestinal permeability or "leaky gut."

A number of factors may contribute, including:
😰 Chronic stress
😴 Poor sleep
🦠 Gut infections
🔬 SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth)
⚖️ Dysbiosis (imbalanced gut bacteria)
🍷 Excessive alcohol intake
💊 Certain medications
🌿 Food sensitivities
🔥 Chronic inflammation

The important thing to remember is that leaky gut doesn't always present with digestive symptoms. Some people experience fatigue, brain fog, headaches, skin issues or worsening food sensitivities instead.

If you're struggling with histamine intolerance, understanding what's happening in the gut may be an important piece of the puzzle. Save this image for later.
