Formerly Home Instead Australia, Dovida provides high-quality, person-centred home care to the Outer East and Glen Waverley community. Dovida creates a Circle of Care that places individuals at the centre of a holistic support system, uniting families, our skilled caregivers, our support teams, and the wider healthcare community. We provide a range of services including everyday companionship, domestic assistance, personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, and transport to appointments, shopping and social outings. Care is available up to 24hrs a day and ranges from light housekeeping to dementia care and palliative care.

Our CAREGiver, Jackie, won our monthly Share Your Heart award for showing exceptional care, commitment and selflessness in supporting a client with complex concerns and health issues. By sharing her heart and dedicating time to attend extra services with a person-centred approach to assisting her client, she has played a significant role in maintaining her client’s wellbeing and independence whilst also assisting the client to remain living in their current accommodation. Our CAREGiver of the Quarter award goes to...Carolyn! Carolyn regularly receives nominations, and this quarter she received two.
Nomination 1 - Carolyn cares for a high dementia care client who has been displaying significant behavioural changes of late. She is able to de-escalate any situation and provide guidance and support in inventive ways that the client reacts positively to.
Recently, the client was not home at the time of Carolyn's arrival and is known to wander. Carolyn acted swiftly by alerting the office in order to begin the process of tracking her down. Carolyn used her knowledge of the client to search in known places, which resulted in the client being found safe and well.
Nomination 2 - We would like to acknowledge Carolyn's exceptional care, commitment, and selflessness in supporting a client. Her dedication and person-centred approach have played a significant role in helping them maintain their well-being, independence, and ability to continue residing at their current residence.
Carolyn has offered to take on additional shifts to support the client even further.

1. What was your employment before coming to work with Dovida and what drew you to this line of work?
Retail. When her nan was diagnosed with dementia she became her carer, and after she passed, she wanted to continue caring for people.
2. What is your favourite food/cuisine?
Pizza
3. What do you like to do in your free time?
Read fantasy
4. What is your superpower?
Being a mum!
5. What’s one thing we do not know about you?
She grew up riding horses and competing.
6. What is your favourite holiday destination and why?
Cairns. Warm weather and beaches.
Where is somewhere you like to go to chill out?
7. Her reading nook.

The Office.

Our CAREGiver, Anne, has just been awarded our quarterly 'Above & Beyond' award. Recently, whilst on service, Anne's client was subjected to verbal abuse by a visitor at a neighbouring property. Although understandably shaken by the experience herself, Anne responded with empathy, care, and practical guidance during what was a distressing situation.
Recognising the seriousness of the incident, Anne contacted the office and assisted her client to report the incident to police.
Anne's calm, compassionate, and proactive response ensured that her client felt supported and empowered during a difficult time. Her actions demonstrated a strong commitment to safeguarding clients, promoting their wellbeing, and ensuring they have the information and confidence needed to seek help when required.
Anne consistently exemplifies our values through her client-centred
approach, professionalism, and genuine care for the people we support. Her
dedication makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients and is highly deserving of recognition. Well done Anne! 👏🙌🫶💜

Our CAREGiver, Tayla, recently won our monthly 'Take the Lead' award. Tayla was an amazing help to one of her clients. Recently, the client experienced a medical episode during a service and became agitated. Tayla remained calm and dealt professionally with the client and the paramedics through some very stressful moments. This assistance was appreciated by both the client and her family. Well done Tayla! 👏🫶🙌

We recently invited our clients to attend a music and munchies afternoon at our office in Scoresby. We had a wonderful turnout, with many clients enjoying watching an Andre Rieu concert on the big screen, accompanied by popcorn and ice-cream. Clients commented that it was a beautiful afternoon with great company, and entertainment 🍿🍦🎤.
