Welcome to Nourishme Organics - The Gut Health Store,

I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to visit us. Your time is precious and we are so honoured to have you with us. My story begins 8 years ago, crippled with anxiety and depression, overweight and lacking energy and vibrancy. I was told by my psychiatrist that antidepressants were the only option but being the Food Scientist that I

am, I began to look at alternative ways including numerous research studies to treat my ill health. I am very excited to tell you about a miracle food I discovered called Kefir which transformed my life. Fermented foods like Kefir are one of the most beneficial foods for gut health. Whilst fermented foods can be a bit daunting to the begin with, we will guide you through the process, step by step and provide as much support, humanly possible because our core purpose is to share the gift of digestive health and vitality one tummy at a time. "Let Food Be Thy Medicine and Medicine Be Thy Food"- Hippocrates. Thank you again for coming by. With Gratitude, Grace and Love

Namaste,

Your gut is home to roughly 38 trillion microbes — more than the number of cells in your entire body. 🧬

New research is shining a light on something fascinating: it's not just which bacteria live there. It's what they produce that seems to matter most for healthy aging.

Swipe through for the science → 👉

Some of what stood out to us:

🔹 Centenarians across multiple countries share a distinctive, more diverse gut microbiome compared to younger adults
🔹 Short-chain fatty acids (acetate, propionate, butyrate) — made when your gut bacteria ferment fibre — fuel your colon cells and support a healthy gut barrier
🔹 Butyrate alone can provide up to ~80% of your colon cells' energy needs
🔹 Even fermentation gases like hydrogen act as antioxidants, helping neutralise free radicals

The through-line? A fibre-rich, whole-food diet feeds the microbes that make these beneficial compounds. Ultra-processed foods do the opposite.

It's a good reminder that supporting your gut isn't about chasing one "hero" ingredient — it's about consistently feeding the ecosystem that's quietly working for you every day. 🌱

Save this for your next grocery run, and share with someone who'd find this as fascinating as we did 💛

🥛 KEFIR vs YOGHURT: They're not the same fermented food (and your gut wants both) 👇

They sit side by side in the dairy aisle. Both white, both fermented, both "gut-friendly." But that's where the similarities end.

The fermentation is completely different:
🔥 Yoghurt needs heat — 2 bacterial strains working at 40-45°C for hours
🌡️ Kefir ferments at room temp — using living "grains" (really a SCOBY of bacteria AND yeast)

The numbers tell the real story:
🦠 Yoghurt: 2-5 bacterial strains
🦠 Kefir: up to 60 different bacterial + yeast species

Kefir also contains beneficial yeasts yoghurt simply can't have — the heat needed for yoghurt kills them off. That's also why kefir gets its signature fizz and yoghurt never will.

What about lactose?
Both fermented dairy foods break lactose down — kefir just goes further thanks to its longer ferment and broader microbial team.

So which one should you choose?

Honestly — both. They play different roles:
🥤 Kefir = maximum diversity, drinkable, great in smoothies + marinades
🥄 Yoghurt = thick, spoonable, higher protein, familiar taste

Your gut microbiome doesn't play favourites. Feed it both. 💚

Which one's in your fridge right now?

Is your yoghurt a "gut-healing superfood" or just an overpriced dairy dessert? 🍦🥣

The truth is, not all yoghurts are created equal. In our latest blog post, we dive deep into what actually makes yoghurt beneficial for your gut health and why many store-bought options are missing the mark.

Here’s a sneak peek at what you’ll learn:

✨ The "Ghost" Bacteria Problem: Why many commercial yoghurts contain zero living microbes by the time they reach you.
✨ The Sugar Trap: How "healthy" yoghurts can sometimes contain more sugar than a dessert, feeding the very bacteria you're trying to crowd out.
✨ The 24-Hour Difference: Why fermenting your own yoghurt at home can result in up to 50 times more beneficial bacteria than what you find on the shelf.

✨ Targeted Strains: How to choose specific cultures (like L. reuteri) to support skin health, mood, and immunity.

Stop guessing and start culturing for real results.

Transform your homemade yoghurt into a metabolic powerhouse! 🌿✨

If you’ve been following the "Super Gut" protocol or looking to level up your fermentation game, our new Lactobacillus gasseri LG08 Starter Culture is the missing piece to your gut health puzzle.

Unlike standard probiotics, L. gasseri is a unique strain celebrated for its role in supporting metabolic health and microbiome diversity. When fermented at home for 36 hours, you’re not just making yoghurt—you’re creating a high-potency functional superfood with exponentially higher bacterial counts than a standard capsule.

Why you’ll love it:

🔥 Metabolic Support: Research suggests this strain may target visceral fat and support a healthy metabolism.

🦠 Super Gut Ready: Specifically selected for Dr. William Davis’ Super Gut protocols and SIBO support.

🥛 Maximum Potency: Each sachet delivers a high-concentration pure freeze-dried culture for a vigorous, bioactive fermentation.

✅ Pure & Organic: Free from fillers, GMOs, and artificial additives.

Pro Tip for the Perfect Batch: To get that thick, creamy texture and maximum CFU counts, ferment at 36°C-38°C for 36 hours and add Prebiotic Inulin to feed the bacteria!

🍦 The Tasty Secret to Living to 117? It Might Be in Your Fridge! 🍦

Ever wonder what the world's oldest person ate to stay healthy for over a century? The answer might be simpler (and creamier) than you think! 🧐

Scientists analysed the gut microbiome of Maria Branyas Morera, who lived to be 117, and found her gut bacteria looked decades younger than her actual age. 🧬✨

Her Secret Weapons?

1️⃣ Three Yoghurts a Day: Maria ate fermented yogurt daily, loading her system with beneficial bacteria like Bifidobacterium.

2️⃣ The Mediterranean Diet: A lifetime of veggies, fruits, whole grains, and healthy fats. 🥑🍅

Why It Matters: While Maria had "lucky genes," researchers say her diverse gut microbiome played a huge role in her resilience. You can boost yours too by adding fermented foods like kefir, kimchi, and—of course—yogurt to your routine! 🥣
