In 2017 we were handed us a cheque for $5,000.

It was the first one we ever received. AGL Loy Yang were the first organisation to look at what we were building and back it before anyone else did. They didn't skip the following year and jump ship, they firmed their support. Prioritising sustainability in our community.

Nine years on, that partnership has shaped almost everything we do.

We've delivered education inside the walls of AGL for the whole journey from International Women's Day events, Mens Health Events, RUOK Day Seminars, Mental Health First Aid Training & Apprenticeship specific training.

Outside those walls we've worked across their catchment, running community events, parenting seminars, school programs and resources for families who otherwise wouldn't have had access to any of it.

That last part matters more than people realise. Gippsland communities miss out on a lot. Services get funded in the city and trickle out here if we're lucky. Having a partner willing to fund this work locally means a parent in a small town can sit in a seminar they'd never have travelled to Melbourne for. It means a primary school can run an evidence based wellbeing program without finding money they don't have.

Then there's the footy and netball. Through our partnership with the NGFNL we've delivered seminars in every club in the league, plus an annual mental health round. Changerooms, clubrooms, canteen queues. That's where these conversations actually land.

None of it happens without shared values. AGL Loy Yang never treated this as a logo on a banner or a transaction. They've turned up for nine years because they care about the same communities we do, had our back & joined in on our mission.

To everyone who's been part of this journey, thank you. And to AGL Loy Yang, thank you for saying yes long before anyone else did and for supporting community.

Next two days at the National Education Summit and the conversations are always the best part.

Teachers, principals, wellbeing leads, parents. Everyone asking a version of the same question. How do we actually support these kids, not just talk about supporting them?

That’s why Healthier Hearts & Lighter Minds exists. Relatable & engaged learning. Helping students understand the ‘why’.

Social and emotional learning that fits into a real classroom, curriculum run by teachers and program delivery from our incredible team. Resources for days & ongoing support as needed.

Stop by the stand, come find us. We’re here and we’d love to talk or spin the wheel for some giveaways!

Ten years today, September 1st 2016 to September 1st 2026 ,as a Not for Profit Charity with the ACNC.

It started with one guy at the age of 24 and a story he couldn't carry on his own. Matt's experience was the spark. But a spark isn't a fire.

What turned it into ten years of Mindfull Aus was every person who picked up a corner of it and carried it too.

The facilitators who give energy to our delivery, speakers & their heart, The teachers that open their arms and classrooms, The sporting clubs who want to do different & change culture, the parents & community who show up to gain insight & connect, the volunteers who prioritised heart available over time available, the board who guided it and drove it in the right direction, the sponsors & donors , the people who backed us & gave it legs and all of you, who like, follow, share and comment on any of our content and posts. You helped us to grow and impact people in all corners of the country.

Ten years of seminars. Trainings. Resources. Rooms full of kids and grown-ups learning to hold themselves and each other a little better.

And ten years of the stuff nobody sees. The emails you don't forget. The phone calls that have no boundary, the weight this work brings to your door, the kind you can't unread and can't walk away from. We've sat in all that too. It never makes the highlight reel. It's never seen, rarely spoken of - but it's the part that mattered most. Being there for our community & resourcing them to where it made most sense no matter

We never weren't there. We always prioritised our community & always remained connected and on the ground.

This was never one person's story. It grew because so many of you made it yours.

To our community. Our people. Everyone who welcomed us in and let us play our part in something bigger than any of us.

Thank you.

Ten years down. Look what we built together.

Happy Birthday Mindfull Aus. Here's to the next 10.

The debut of Phase 5 of Healthier Hearts, Lighter Minds took us to St Mary’s Newborough, where we got to hang out with the legends in Grades 3–6!

This time, we explored the idea that what we see on the surface isn’t always the full story, through this we met the newest HHLM character, Izzy the Iceberg

Izzy helped us see that while we might notice what someone is doing on the outside, there can be a whole lot of thoughts, feelings and emotions happening underneath that we can’t always see.

Through plenty of games, laughs and conversations, we explored what it means to be a great friend, checking in, listening, being curious and supporting each other when things might be a little bigger beneath the surface.

Big shoutout to St Mary’s for another epic few days continuing the conversation around all things emotions, friendships, mental health and building Healthier Hearts & Lighter Minds!

Ten years. In the books.

Saturday night was everything we hoped it would be and more. A room full of people who care, sharing ten years of Mindfull Aus in one place, honouring the contributions that got us here and the people who made every bit of it possible as well as some of the highlight moments.

A huge congratulations to our Decade Award winners. These are people who've given so much of themselves to this work, and it was an honour to recognise them properly.

💚Fundraiser of the Decade — Jay Wells, sponsored by BlueBern Foundation
💚Facilitator of the Decade — Liam O'Connell, sponsored by Virtue Developments
💚Volunteer of the Decade — Steve Browning and Sophie Cohen, sponsored by Leah Mether
💚Community Champion of the Decade — Andrew Runnalls - 10 years of contribution, sponsored by Fernwood Fitness

Ten years of impact doesn't happen without people like you. Congratulations to all of you, thoroughly deserved.

To everyone who bought a table, placed a bid, donated, or showed up and filled that room with their kindness. Thank you. You made the night what it was.

To our sponsors, who back this work year after year, we're grateful for every single one of you.

To Lardner Park for hosting us so brilliantly. To our entertainment, who lifted the room from start to finish. And to Jason Lee, who owned the auction and gave it everything.

And most importantly, to Lily and Mel and the team at MCO Events. You were an absolute powerhouse. The way that night looked, the way it felt, the way it flowed, that was you. Thank you doesn't quite cover it.

Ten years of impact, celebrated the right way, with the right people.

Here's to what comes next. ❤️

This Saturday night we celebrate ten years of Mindfull Aus.

Ten years of walking into schools, workplaces, and sporting clubs and having the conversations most people avoid. Ten years that only happened because people backed us when this was still just an idea and a lot of hope.

This is a big night for us. It also marks Matt stepping down as CEO after ten years at the helm, so it’s a night to honour how far we’ve come and to back where we’re headed next.

Not everyone can be in the room on the night. That’s alright. You can still be part of it.

We’ve set ourselves a goal of $50,000 for the Gala. Every dollar celebrates what we’ve built together, and it kickstarts the next ten years of programs and education right across our community.

So here are two ways you can help from wherever you are.

💚 Make a pledge. Any amount, big or small. It goes straight into the work, the same work we’ve been doing for a decade.
https://aus.givergy.com/mindfullaus2026/?controller=home

🖤Bid on the ballot. We’ve got some cracking items up for grabs. If you’d like to place a bid, send it privately to [email protected] and we’ll look after the rest.

Every pledge is tax deductible, and every single one helps us keep showing up for the people who need us most.

In the room or cheering us on from home, you’re part of the next chapter. Thank you for ten years. Let’s go again.
