Imagine a kingdom with a wise, calm ruler.

When the Emperor is settled, the kingdom can function with more harmony.

Do you actually know when Day 1 of your period is? 🩸👀

A little spotting beforehand generally isn’t counted as Day 1.

Day 1 = the first day of proper menstrual flow.

But don’t ignore the spotting.

In Chinese Medicine, I still want to know when it happens, how long it lasts, the colour and whether it happens every cycle because it can give us more information about your menstrual pattern.

The Liver has an important relationship with Blood and the smooth flow of Qi, which is why we often consider it when looking at PMS, breast tenderness, cramps, clots and menstrual changes.

But one symptom never tells the whole story. It’s always about the pattern.
