Arts and Crafts with Carol and Angelica
Carol loves all things creative! Whether it’s decorating in the home, putting together a puzzle, colouring in or painting, she is no stranger to being artsy!
Carol's mother Beryl used to paint lovely floral pieces on vases, of which Carol has a few treasured vases that she holds very dearly to her heart.
Carol also loves her plants and decorating parts of the garden, so one rainy afternoon, I thought we'd try and paint together. Many times I've said to Carol "if you feel like painting one day, you can teach me some painting skills!"
At first Carol was a little hesitant about what she could paint and worried she was going to make a mess (so we both put on aprons :p) but then was very interested in the array of colours and types of paint brushes she could use. Each stroke, shape and pattern was meticulously put into place, with no real system or rules to follow. It was such a joy to see her focused in and getting involved. We laughed about how we both did well at looking the part and said that we were artists with our masterpieces.
While painting, we chatted away and had so much fun. Today Carol has those rocks on display, right next to one of her mum's vases and in front of her framed painting of Norfolk Island (I'm glad that the rock I painted made the cut!). The activity was such a success, and it is safe to say that the rocks are now part of some very cherished items.
